Welcome to the Universal Life Church The Church of Universal Life is a very interesting organization. They believe that ordanation is between the individual and God. As a result of these beliefs thay have chosen to take care of the paperwork between the individual and the various governements of these United States i.e. If you regester with them you are legally a minister in all fifty states. (you have to check on the local policy for registering in your state)
While I agree with the theological principle I find the practice rather disturbing. I have worked for years studing theology, teaching and performing religious ceremonies. In some states the two minutes I spent on the internet filling out a form count more that my years of religious study and service. On the other hand religions that have stricter qualifications than mine probably feel the same way about me. I have a BA in sociology of religion not a masters or doctorite in divinity.
