The realization of the importance of how America became so vast in her respect for humanity, life, death, and pursuit of happiness will I hope be evident to you. We are special in our own respects and have so much to offer as an individual, which was so well demonstrated by personal histories and nations history. To see your contribution no matter how small makes a difference regardless if it is in your personal life or public life. What facts and elements make our nation great? My perception: The fortitude of the Indian who crossed the glacier. The adventure of before and after Columbus to explore and expand their realms of the terms from shore to shore. Revisiting history the pride of the American Indian and the commitment to take care of the earth and their respect for life and death are so evident. Remembering the prisons emptied to our shores and the individuals facing life for the first time. I find the determination of the cowboy to with stand the new country they settled. The Military and all who died for the betterment of life as they realized it. How about the brilliance of the scientists, the dedication of the medical community, hope of the immigrant, sweat of the laborer, the smiles and sounds of all the children, commitment of the politician, and the prayer of the religious community. If we look we fit somewhere in all this history as an individual. Last but not least our nation has survived under God!
