This is a picture of my mothers villa in Naples Italy. It is vast lands of walnut groves, lemon groves, orange groves and grazing lands for the livestock. The Children have a vested interest in the villa each seperate family assigned a specific crop or livestock to tend and distribute. It is wonderful to see a family business survive centuries of war and remain in family possession. This land was used in World War 2 for a landing strip by the United States Government.
The above picture is my mother while fighting cancer, on to be her final visit to Italy in 1994. Mother visited the bunker where the family resided for months during World War 2. The family has kept the bunker in tact all these years.
Welcome to my Italian home on the net. I hope to bring a variety of intrests and share my place in our melting pot with you. The internet has grown to become the sidewalk to the most beautiful melting pot one could ever hope to become a part of. Creating a neighborhood for our children is, was, and always will be of common interst to humanity. Introducing my cultural heritege to the internet neighborhood I hope to bring about an understanding and appreciation of my American and Italian cultures. The Italian culture is one of stories and compassion. It has the elements of love and devotion. Remembering the stories of my mother and the time teaching my grandparents english are grand and embeded in me. "Feliamea",in English means,"Daughter of mine, always look at the world though the eyes of a child and you will always learn and love. You will never grow old and will never be bored or unhappy", this is a saying my mother would say when we were bored or upset. I have tried to live it talk it share it, as it made me what I am today.
