Katti took a job, working at home selling advertisement on the computer. It was her job to set up a sales ad then submit it around the web. Hopefully she would get feed back on it. Each new client that signed up for the service Katti made a commission on. It wasn't all a bed of roses. This was one of the new tools of the sales trade but still it took a lot of time and energy. Yet there was no walking out the door, not physical contact, and really no voice contact, overall it was a great job if she could just manage to make a few bucks. One afternoon Katti was on the internet, shifting through the countless wasted e-mail she received. When a topic caught her eye. (Lost Soul's) Wondering why such a topic, she opened the e-mail, after all she herself was a lost soul wasn't she. Maybe it would tell her of some miracle to over come this grief. It had been long enough, almost 5 years. She had no life, no one to love nothing at all. The windowed opened to a large title of LOST SOUL'S while she waited for the page to load, her mind drifted to all sorts of thoughts of lost soul's. Was Joel up there lost and looking for her. Would she ever get over this lonely feeling for that mater did she want to. Then came the java script running pictures of children. Kidnapped, abandoned, the face staring her in the screen was a 13 year old girl, missing since August, 1998 then another picture automatically loaded. A little boy of 2 years old kidnapped by someone. Who would do such a think she thought. Clicking on the more information button to read about the cute face of David. David was stolen from his mother at a supermarket while she was shopping. He had wandered off from his mother wanting to ride the penny pony at the front of the store. After a thoughal search of the building and grounds the police were called in. Someone had reported that they saw a man carrying a screaming little boy out of the store, but just assumed it was the boys father. {Oh god!} Katty moaned. { How on god's earth can anyone do that to a child, what must the mother be feeling, and the poor father.} Katti sat there for over an hour reading all the information on the Lost Soul's. Tears in her eyes for some of the stories that she had come across. Children beaten, abandoned, misused. Then a thought crossed her mind, saying the word out loud softly, "Heather?" Yes she had a daughter, Heather was her named. Strange that she should say had, for Heather was still her daughter. Yet she knew nothing of the little girl. And really did she had a right to call Heather her daughter. Tear's ran down Katti's face, not once beyond a slight hint did she ever think of Heather. There was no knowledge of where she was or what she was doing. Katti knew that Heather was in the care of Donna and John her inlays. Yet she didn't know if Heather looked like her or Joel, she never knew if she was sick or healthy, sad or happy. Katti felt she was no better than the people that she had been reading about in the Lost Soul's pages. Now the tears ran down her face uncontrollably. She was rotten, she needed her head examined. What kind of a woman was she anyway. Carrying herself to the bathroom, she gazed into the mirror as she passed. God, what has happen to me. Looking for a long time, the tears dried on her swollen cheeks. Making a pat right then, she swore she was going to clean herself up and go to see her daughter. Washing her face, and running a brush thru her hair was a start. Throwing herself across the bed, Katti fell asleep thinking of the baby she never knew. Tomorrow it was all going to start new. A brand new life. She would put her sorrow aside and find a piece of love in her heart for her daughter HEATHER!. The following morning, Katti showered, even put on some clothes for the first time in she didn't know how long. Made some coffee. Checking her email for messages took most of the morning. And by afternoon it was time to work on the ads..and send them out. This went on for days. Day's that Katti didn't call to talk to Donna. Day's that Katti didn't ask about her daughter, but she would, it was just a matter of time. Katti wanted to make sure it was the right time. Not just calling and saying Hi, its me after all these years. If Katti went off half cocked and not prepared she could really stand to lose. They might not even talk to her about Heather, after all why should they. Katti never made any attempt to see Heather or find out about her before. So Katti sat, biting her time, getting better and better health wise. Some money even started to come in from her ads. Katti had received two commission checks at one time. Not a lot of money but still something. She paid a couple of bills, and bought some food. Katti was forcing herself to eat on a regular basis. Three meals a day if she liked it or not. The food must have be agreeable with her. The color was returning to her cheeks...and there was even a smile on her lips once in a while. She had a new edge on life, to see her daughter.
