TO DEFEAT THE CA GUN GRAB Ladies & gentlemen: By now most Californians are waking up to the fact their state is being used as a test case to see if a state gun confiscation order will be tolerated. Specifically, certain SKS and similar military style semi-automatic weapons have been declared illegal after some legal wrangling. In the meantime, their owners had been required to register those guns. Well, maybe the camel just stumbled the rest of the way into the tent, because it is being reported that those poor fools who registered their guns are just now receiving letters ordering them to turn those guns -- without compensation -- into a local law enforcement agency by a certain date or they will be prosecuted. Assuming those reports are true, the Southern Oregon Militia would like to offer it's assistance to our brothers and sisters in California to wit: Send us your guns and we'll store them for you until this thing blows over. Those guns are not illegal in Oregon, and we know there is a major class action lawsuit being considered in California to reverse this nightmare, but you all know lawsuits take years to resolve. In the meantime, you'll become feons if you keep those rifles past the deadline. The U.S. Post Office will ship your rifles to us, and the Southern Oregon Militia will provide you a receipt in the amount of one U.S. dollar and full documentation showing the gun's serial number, etc. So instead of turning your rifle in to a law enforcement agency, you can provide proof you sold the rifle to a legal out-of-state buyer. We will store your rifle and make it available for inspection in Oregon if you are required to prove you no longer posses the gun. No, this is not a scam to separate you from your firearm. In fact, we encourage you to do the same thing if you have a relative living in another state where those rifles are still legal to possess. It just happens that Southern Oregon is just across the border from California, and you won't have far to go to get your rifles if you need them. If and when a lawsuit successfully defeats this nonsense, we will happily ship the guns back to their owners -- at the owner's expense, of course. (We don't want to get stuck paying shipping costs of say, $10.00 each for 1,000 rifles!) You also need to understand that we will store the weapons in a nice warm, dry place and take reasonable care of them, but we cannot accept liability for them if a fire destroys the building or some other calamity befalls them. If you turn the guns in to a law enforcement agency, you can be assured they will be destroyed before the lawsuit even gets filed.
