Now add to this the fact that City Councilmen are on the boards of the
organizations that "lease" the property and help to draft the contract (and
or approve of it, by vote or silience) and use this tactic to insulate the
government from doing their job of protecting the freedoms of individuals
and you get an idea of how a real activist gets ideas in his/her head (just
like you have). I wouldn't expect that I'll be getting a call from the City
Attorney's office any time soon.

More time helps. But, better understanding is even better. Please keep in
mind that what a judge will eventually say on this issue is beside the real
point. It will be the clear understanding of the people in Arizona of what
and how they are doing what they are that will educate them into action or
non-action on certain issues. This is exactly why the fight on the Bank One
Ballpark was so important. We knew the judges wouldn't rule in our favor.
But this method of tax rape has been put on the back burner by the public
too many time since then to discount our effectiveness. We only need a calm
and cool Ken Reneer (Sorry I know I got the spelling wrong) kinda thing to
get standing that will be the hub of the education process (and I know where
we can get cheap cheap printing done :)
Mr. Keeling made it clear to me that the City Council of Tempe would
continue to support the development and developers in Tempe for the
forseeable future by using the power of government in the private/private
partnership that has been developed over the years. I say,
OOOOOOKaaaayyyyyyyy. Let's see what we can do to change that :)
