"sure to become commonplace???"
I remember when a drunk subway train operator killed a lot of people and then walked away not to be seen for a few days or so. A Libertarian comedian named Slagle did a take on this where he said that if Mary Jane was legal this accident could just as well happen with the engineer being stoned. The only difference would be that it would have happened at 2 miles per hour.
I wouldn't call myself an expert :) But I do know that the effects are totally different. I do know that the effects of Mary J. are far less harmful to your body than alcohol and you are far less likely to do anyone else harm (maybe their ear drums from the volume of Tom & Jerry videos). But, IT IS FOR CERTAIN what the Drug War has done to the rights of individuals and to the country in general.
Freedom is always the answer to any question.
Of course we could argue about the benefits of abstinence (what I say to my 4 children) but once someone becomes an adult I have no right to tell them what they can and can not do with THEIR body. I can only defend whatever infringement on my rights their behavior may cause (not potentially cause). This is why the 2nd Amendment and the ability to defend myself is so important. When force is used (like force of law and /or bullet) it better be in defense of rights. Because if your advocating the use of force to make people act the way you want them to then you're on the wrong side of freedom and open the door for someone to tell you how you should live your life.
Freedom forces people to be responsible,.... or die, be killed or be ignored.
Because I know the benefits of a truly free society, I'm willing to put up with the risks that accompany freedom. And I'll sure as hell need my gunsssss.
