Subject: Ltr. to Cong. - Gun Control? DON'T EVEN START!
To: AZRKBA@asu.edu
RKBA Defenders,
Clinton and his fellow conspirators are back in session and gunning for your freedoms. If you do nothing, you deserve to lose them. I urge you to call, write, fax, skywrite... convey to your SenReps in no uncertain terms that 'gun control' is the Third Rail of politics. Stop them before they even start. Thank you.
In Liberty,
Rick V.
A letter to Congress:
I am calling on you to honor your oath to support and defend the Constitution of the United States. The Second Amendment IS the Constitution. Gunownership IS Freedom. Gunownership IS safety.
Guns in civilian hands are exactly where they belong. Each year you deploy our troops to places thousands of miles away where civilians are being slaughtered -- oftentimes by their own government, sometimes by marauders against whom their government has made them defenseless and cannot or will not defend.
Demands for so-called "gun control" are based on lies and hysteria. Where Americans carry weapons in their own defense, they are safest. Where 'Gun Control' holds sway (New York City, Washington, DC, Chicago, Los Angeles and Baltimore) the murder rate is highest and the people left defenseless.
I call on you to honor the Second Amendment in the same fashion as the great State of Vermont, which merely prohibits criminal use of personal weapons. Alternately, you may pass a law patterned after Kennesaw, Georgia, which requires that each household maintain a weapon. Since Kennesaw passed that law, violent crime has plummeted.
Best, however, is for you to follow the plain language and original intent of the Second Amendment and *require* every able-bodied American to maintain a fully-automatic assault rifle and ammunition at home for militia duty, in the same manner the Swiss have done for years. This will go far to increase our national strength -- needed especially in the aftermath of this Administration's drawdown of our military strength and revelations tending to show that our most sensitive nuclear secrets were traded away for reelection money -- and it will also increase the concept of citizen ownership of and participation in our Republican form of government.
Very truly yours,
Richard Vaughan --
