Thomas Sowell in his column Creators Syndicate ran in the Arizona Republic on Friday January 14, 2000 said that people often type

"The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog."

because it contains all the letters of the alphabet.

I like him because he wants to make life easier for people and said a shorter sentence to use is

"Pack my box with five dozen liquor jugs."

which I think sounds much better.

But I must also cite him for lying because

"The quick brown fox jumped over the lazy dog."

doesn't contain every letter of the alphabet - its missing a "s".
