The hells are situated within the Universe, below the erath and above the water,
fitting the rest of the space upto the shell of the mundane egg, on the southern side:
Yama lives there with his attendents and inflicts punishment, in the same form as
the crime itself, on departed jivas brought to his realm by his servants. There are
twenty one (21) principal hells (departments of punishment). |
