Yes, even the crappy ones!
The following is a list of locations covered on this page:

West Hangar Road:
Runway 10 Arrivals
These photographs are from West Hangar Road, adjacent to the NASA Glenn Research Center. I don't advise trying to spend a lot of time taking photographs here, because you'll probably arouse suspicion of the airport security guards. At this location you are technically on airport property even though it is a "public road."
There are a couple of reasons why I don't feature this location:
.
- There's no ILS on Rwy 10, so if there's weather in the area, this runway isn't in use.
- There's no good place to park. It's a very narrow road and there's no shoulder to speak of. If you try to park just outside the gate of the Glenn Research Center (which is right next to this spot) the security guards will make you leave.
- Approaching aircraft are obstructed by trees until they are practically above you.
- My experience has been that most aircraft use this runway in the evening. That means they have the runway "lit up" by the setting sun behind them. That also means that spotters get the blinding sun in their faces when they're looking for the aircraft!
- And finally, once the aircraft is on the ground you can't see it anymore, because you're a good six feet below the end of the runway.
With that said, here's the photographs I snapped. All of these photographs were taken in August, 2000.
Here is a Federal Express (FedEx) Feeder Cessna 208 "Caravan" on short final.
Then came a private plane... I'm not up to snuff on my private planes so I'm not even going to guess what kind it is.
Here's our friendly neighborhood Shorts 330 coming in for a landing...
Finally I was able to follow yet another FedEx Feeder flight over the numbers.
This series proves that the Rwy 10 approach is the only place where you can truly stand nose to gear with approaching aircraft. Just remember: security is watching.
