Back in the 70's in the UK, the childrens TV programme 'The Sooty Show' featured many characters, but none so rich & colourful as Butch, the lovable rogue. We here at the PAHHPLP salute Butch as more than just a soppy glove puppet.
He unashamedly flirted with Soo, threatened Sooty & Sweep, and spoke with a gruff voice. He represented the rebel, the maverick in society, and sure enough when they eighties ushered in untold heights of commercialism, selfishness, narcisim and mass-control - Butch was axed! But worse than that he disappeared! His existence seems to be denied, and even if you ask fellow watchers of the show they'll struggle to recall him, so successful has the conspiracy been.
