There are many more that I would like to recommend and more commentaries to fill in. I'll add more to this page as time allows.

Robert Hand

Planets in Transit : Life Cycles for Living (The Planet Series)

~ Robert Hand / Paperback / Published 1980

They could've titled this The Astrologers' Transit Bible, a must for any astrological library. Robert's astrological insights are profound. Robert's interpretations of Transits provide thematic and practical scenarios of potentials. Every Astrologer I know has a copy, because no-one wants to part with it to lend, even to friends ...haha. I didn't miss the opportunity to ask Rob to autograph my copy when he visited us at the Gold Coast. This man is walking, talking, living Astrology, a pleasure to learn from..

Planets in Composite : Analyzing Human Relationships (The Planet Series)

~Robert Hand / Paperback / Published 1997

This book is a revelation, outlining thematic and practical scenarios of potential clashes or attractions between planetary positions of partnerships. Is there a couple out there that never runs into tension and disagreement...if there is I'd like there charts? Researching this area truly displays the rarity of the "perfect couple", not sad, just realistic. I'm still waiting for the day when I look into this book for guidance and am not surprised by Robert's knowledge and wisdom.

Jeanne Avery

Astrology and Your Health

~Jeanne Avery / Published 1991

Regarding the Astrological relationships with personal health, Jeanne has it covered in this book. I've not found it necessary to purchase another book on this particular topic, Jeanne's book presents it all so thoroughly. Chapters on: Astrology and its Description of Health, Relationship of Astrology to Body Energy, Relationship of Astrology to Mental Energy, Relationship of Astrology to Spiritual Health and Types of Therapies.

Jeff Green

Pluto, the Evolutionary Journey of the Soul Vol 1

~ Jeff Green / Paperback / Published 1986

Come down deeper into the realm of the Psychological Astrologer with this book. Being a scorpio sun I can't help but love the exposure of these normally hidden factors in our personalities. You'll love Jeff's writing style, he's very eloquent and smooth. A transformative treasure to read what Jeff interprets from your Pluto positions.

Liz Greene

Saturn : a New Look at an Old Devil

~ Liz Greene / Paperback / Published 1976

The first book of Liz's I bought years ago exposed me to a much more responsible approach toward manifesting Saturn. A wise lady, in touch and in tune. Like all of Liz's books, this one will take you on a transformational journey.

The Outer Planets and Their Cycles : The Astrology of the Collective

~ Liz. Greene / Published 1983

A most profound purchase, launching me toward researching the "Collective Cycles." The book is divided into lectures that Liz has given on this subject. A small price to pay for the experience wrapped up in this book. Mankinds' journey on the wheel is aptly substantiated through Liz's examples.

Astrology of Fate

~ Liz Greene / Paperback / Published 1986

Haven't read this yet, Charyn just bought it for me last week.

Astrology for Lovers

~ Liz Greene / Paperback / Published 1990

This woman has comedic talents and I just can't help but recommend this book to you. Brings a smile to my face re-reading Liz's insights into the interactions of astrological types when romance and love come to the fore. Particularly interesting presentation of your 'shadow' side. You're going to find quite a few scenarios you identify with in here. Like Liz's main writing style...educational, entertaining and transformative. If you find Liz is lecturing near you don't hesitate to organise your attendance.

James Braha

How to Be a Great Astrologer : The Planetary Aspects Explained

~ James Braha / Paperback / Published 1992

I grabbed an autographed copy of this book. Unfortunately missed the author..doh! I thought a title like this hinted just a touch of arrogance. James style is confident that's for sure, but not arrogant. James outlines Aspects from a practical and psychological perspective and rounds this up quickly with a minimum of added conversation. I'd like a dollar for every astrologer that winced over James interpretation of one of their Aspects and then sheepishly admitted he was right...haha.

Howard Sasportas

The Twelve Houses

~ Howard Sasportas / Published 1985

I love this book. Too much to say about it, simply easier to say. If your starting out in Astrology, this is the book to buy on Houses.

Michael Baigent, Nick Campion & Charles Harvey

Mundane Astrology

~ Michael Baigent, et al / Published 1989

A little of the Nostradamus spirit pervading a book of this nature. These three guys know their stuff and offer to you their combined insight regarding the manifestation of global cycles. If prediction of the world's future lures you...this is the book for you.

Donald Kraig

Modern Magick : Eleven Lessons in the High Magickal Arts

~ Donald Michael Kraig / Paperback / Published 1988

I treasure this book. Donald presents a wealth of information in an easy to follow writing style (which means a lot considering the nature of the information). Introducing you to Hebrew Mysticism and the Tree of Life, Donald takes you through the training toward Adeptship in the High Magick Arts. Become familiar with the magickal Rituals of the High Magician; the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram, The Ritual of the Middle Pillar, the Circulation of the Body of Light, the Banishing Ritual of the Hexagram, the Rose Cross Ritual and many more. Pathworking on The Tree of Life, developing your understanding of the spheres, pillars and paths. Following this teaching format will reward you with greater knowledge, awareness, focus and control. If you're new to Ceremonial Magick, this is an excellant book to begin with. Don't try to rush through this book even though Donald makes it such easy reading. Actually do the excercises outlined.

Gareth Knight

Tarot and Magick: Images for rituals and Pathworking

~ Gareth Knight. ISBN 0-89281-316-4 Destiny Books / Paperback / Published 1986, 1991.

His writing style regarding imagery and archetypes, pathworking and divination is rich and transformative. This book suits a reader who is moving from basic to more advanced study of Tarot. Keep an eye out for it.

I couldn't fnd this title at Amazon.com yet. this book was my first taste of the Merlin Mythology and I fell in love with the imagery. Although I haven't seen the cards, I would recommend this book to anyone following a pagan path. The author presents the Cosmology and Psychology of the Tarot. The Trumps are presented in sections: Three Worlds and the Three Wheels, The Three Enlighteners, The Three Liberators, The Three Redeemers, The Three Givers, the Three Sharers and the One Manifest Reality. Further the Minors are divided as The First Triad or Stellar World, The Second Triad or Solar World and The Third Triad or The Lunar World. I found this arrangement extremely enlightening and recognised a familiar resonance with my natural beliefs. This book helped fill in some gaps in my spiritual understanding. Keep an eye out for it or consider this book below by the same author, although I haven't read it, I won't hesitate to suggest any of his works, very enlightening.

Juliet Sharman-Burke & Liz Green

The Mythic Tarot/Book, Cards, and Cloth

~ Juliet Sharman-Burke, et al / Paperback / Published 1987

In collaboration with Juliet Sharman-Burke, Liz produced this Tarot workbook. A creature of habit I guess, I went back to using my old Tarot cards and gave the Mythic Tarot deck to a friend who needed a pack. Would I part with the book? uhm..no, haha, but I did lend it for a long while until my friend bought her own book. Anyone wishing to learn Tarot I would recommend this complete package as the best place to start.

Aleister Crowley

The Book of Thoth : A Short Essay on the Tarot of the Egyptians Being the Equinox Volume III No. V

~ Aleister Crowley, Frieda Harris / Paperback / Published 1988

Eeesh, did I have trouble understanding this book...happy to say though, it has just opened up to me recently and now everything just falls into place (thankyou pluto). Either it helps to be an Astrologer to understand this book or I just simply had some more maturing to do before I could weave my way amongst this mans' brilliance and his eccentric style? The Thoth Tarot is the deck I utilise for myself. I'm not sure why, it just appeals. Now that I seem to be able to flow with this book, a new dimension has been revealed with the deck.

Thanks to my first Astrology teacher Rod for selling these to me, I was a little overwhelmed at first when I began reading Alice Bailey, but you have to learn to take it slow through her books. I started out with Initiation: Human and Solar and plunged into Mystical Theosophy. Each of these books is so jam packed with information. Alice Bailey is a very thorough teacher, complimenting the works of Russian mystic Helena Blavatsky, founder of The Theosophical Society.

Bill Mollison
Permaculture One : a Perennial Agriculture for Human Settlements

~ Bill Mollison / Published 1981

Whether your on a large farm or a small domestic block you should find Bill's proposals worthwhile implementing. He is spiritually in tune with Earth and encourages conservation of her fertility. His practical systems are workable, efficient and affordable. He has made a positive impact in third world countries teaching his permaculture systems. I follow much of Bill's advice on my 1/4 acre block and would recommend his ideas to anyone interested in sustainable agriculture. I also have Bill's second book on the subject: Permaculture Two: Practical Design for Town and Country in Permanent Agriculture. Unfortunately it wasn't on the Amazon.com list as yet. If your interested in practical common sense sustainable systems for the production of food, fuels and fibres Bill's attitudes will appeal to you.

James Gleick
Chaos : Making a New Science

~ James Gleick / Paperback / Published 1988

I was thrilled when Chaos was exposed and scientists sat down and took a big breath. Strange Attractors, Fractal Clusters, The Mandelbrot Set, The Koch Curve, The Lorenz Attractor, The Butterfly Effect are terms you'll learn in this marvellous book that clarifies Chaos theory. James Gleick is a wonderful writer, he is entertaining and an excellant teacher. A book I re-read for enjoyment.

Lewis Carroll
Alice's Adventures in Wonderland

~ Lewis Carroll, Angel Dominguez (Illustrator) / Hardcover / Published 1996
I had to include an entry for Lewis Carroll in consideration of the most amazing childhood visions his stories inspired. Alice Through the Looking Glass is my favourite.
