You get what you pay for
and that's what we got
a couple of kittens
that time just forgot.

Ain't too much to look at
these flea market bargains called cats
one is thin and scrawny
the other is soft and fat.

Don't you get me wrong now,
their anything but what you call tame
yet even when they get on my nerves
I love them just the same.

Author's Note

My wife and I were adopted by two black kittens in 1996. They have been our happiness ever since, even when the make us mad.
