World Trade is awash with the blood

of creatures that live on the flood.

The poor little critters are caught

in the nets that the fishermen bought

No one steps in to place blame.

So the killing goes on just the same.

Author's Note

This poem is on a mature subject no matter how immature the Iambic tetrameter in Heroic Couplet form makes it sound. It denounces the 1998 trend in the WTO towards inaction on the topic of sea turtles and other aquatic natural life that are killed and maimed in the by catch of the shrimp trade.
