Sterrenburg and Leibentstein- "The two Hostile Brothers"
Sterrenburg and Liebenstein were a very speacial pair of castles. They were built for two brothers. The brothers Henry and Konrad von Sterrenburg lived happily with their widowed father in the castle Sterrenburg. After a few years a girl came between the two brothers and Konrad left for the crusades. When Konrad returned his father had died. He drew his sword to honor his father and Henry took it the wrong way. They fought each other and nearly killed the girl. Konrad could not stay in the same castle with his brother so he built castle Liebenstein. After their deaths the castles were sold to the Electorate of Trier. The Electorate expanded Sterrenburg into a citadel and used it to collect tolls. The castles weren't maintained and were in ruins by the year 1600. Finally the feud between the hostile brothers had ended.
