Burg Stahleck over the Rhine |
The Rhine river in Germany begins in the high Swiss Alps and ends in the Netherlands where it empties in to North Sea. The Rhine river is the one of the most important waterways in Germany, since the middle ages the Rhine has been used as a major trading route. As more and more people decided to trade along the Rhine more and taxes could be levied. To make sure of the taxes and tolls were collected rich nobles built many castles along the river to collect the hidden riches. This project will give a brief description of the Rhine and a few of the castles that are along it's banks.
