Note: I wanted to include photos of people here: myself, my family, my friends, etc. However, because I hate pages that are overloaded with graphics and thus take a few eons to load, I've decided to go the thumbnail route. So if you want to see what the denizens of my world look like, click on the thumbnails to see the larger photo.
My name is Amy. I'm 23, and live in Natchitoches, Louisiana. You pronounce that Nak-u-tish. I'm a gemini. True to form, I have eclectic interests, including psychology, literature, music, technical theatre, philosophy, history--and the list goes on.
I graduated from The Louisiana Scholars' College in Natchitoches last May. Then I moved to Austin for a year and worked at the College of Business at UT. Now, I've moved back here to do more undergraduate work in psychology. Hopefully, I'll be here for a year and then move on to grad school.
I read alot. When I'm reading for fun and not to improve my mind, I usually stick to fantasy and science fiction (not that fantasy and science fiction can't be mind-improving). I don't watch much TV, except for the X-files. I'm quite happy that the X-Files movie has come out. I, predictably, really like it. When it's not the X-Files, my film standards have become pretty high. I liked Chasing Amy, and I like The Truman Show. But lately, it's rare that I see a movie I'm really impressed with. My musical tastes are very spread out, but my strongest interests are in folk. That may change next week, though. I'm not a musician, merely an audience member.
No, I did not hatch from an alien seed pod. Yes, I have a family.
Pic of my mom and stepdad coming soon (as soon as I convince them to send me one).
My mother, named Jackie Burns Jones Bastow, is very cool. She owns her own antiques/collectible shop, as well as doing bookkeeping for various small businesses in her hometown of Lake Charles, Louisiana. She also has a Honda Del Sol. She claims to be 35, though doing the math, I'm not sure that's right. She is married to Jimmy Bastow, my stepfather. He's also pretty cool. Check out my mom's home page
. It's pretty impressive for someone who isn't too computer-savvy.My brother, Jay Matthew Jason Jones, resides in Lake Charles, LA. He attends McNeese State University with a double major in computer science and math (and I just don't get that. He hates math. At least, he used to). He claims to be graduating in the spring of 1999. As far as I know, he's telling the truth.
My dad, James "Bud" Hodges Jones, is a Republican. I try not to hold that against him. He likes to travel, especially in the Northwest US. He is RV-man. He never invites me (presumably because he knows I can't go). He is married to Eve Jones. Eve has two children from a previous marriage, Gus and Jennifer (I think). Gus is an actor in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I don't know what Jennifer is.
My mother, my father, and my stepfather have all been firefighters at one time. My stepmother is a nurse. My family is all about safety.
I have lots of friends. Unfortunately, I do not have lots of pictures of my friends. Well, that's not true, either. But I don't have a scanner. I'm working on it. For now, I have one picture, of my roomate. His name is Cline (Jason Cline, actually, but I call him Cline. There are too many Jasons in my life). He's online alot. You may know him as Shamanatu, Noel, Woden, etc. He's also the author of my to-date only poem on here not by me.
Email Cline. See Cline's poem. This page hosted by Get your own Free Home Page
