It seems that we have a mixture of nonsense, weird scientific, and just weird. I mean, civic? I guess maybe the idea is you drive it around the city? Chevy seems to be quite consistent, in that everything is very romanticized. The antelope, the wild town, the gunboat, etc. Okay. Dodge? A snake, a cloud, a bright colour and a brave guy. I don't know. Don't see the trend. But Toyota? A bird, a flower, an island and several nonsense words. I guess maybe there's a nature theme there. Not sure. And maybe Honda is slightly city oriented. Hard to say.
The things where you don't get this is in trucks and SUV's. Those have pretty clearly named things. Forester, Expedition, Forerunner, Pathfinder, Cherokee, etc. But these car names...I dunno. Weird. Part of it might be because I just sort of chose a bunch at random to define. For example, there's a whole cloud series I think. Cirrus, Stratus, cumulus....thunderhead? No that's Thunderbird...
