When in public washrooms, one thing that I always look out for, is guys who don't wash their hands after going. It seems that although pretty much everybody washes their hands after going "number 2", there's maybe between 10% and 20% of guys who don't bother after simply taking a leak.

That's a mistake, guys. They'd probably simply say that oh, the pee didn't touch my hands, so my hands aren't dirty, so I don't need to wash it. Wrong. The area exposed when you're peeing has tons of coliform bacteria in it. When you pee, your hands come into contact with this region long enough for some of the coliform bacteria to be transferred. Washing the hands gets rid of those coliform bacteria. If you don't wash, your hands likely will touch something infectible, thereby infecting yourself or others. Not good. Piss itself is pretty sterile, it won't harm you to have it on your hands. So, that's the scientific reason.

There's another reason. It's nasty to go around shaking people's hands without washing it, after you've just taken a pee.

one of the rationale my friend gave one year was, "why wash? it's gonna get dirty anyway . . " and i was like, so why do you shower, youre gonna get sweaty and dirty again . . . so i think he changed his mind after . . .

so how do girlz or another guy know whether a guy's washed their hands or not before they shake it?

well.....you don't, unless you happen to know beforehand (like you saw him walking out of the washroom without washing his hands). but since most girls don't hang out in the guys washroom, the best advice that i could give is to try and wash your own hands not long after shaking someone else's hand.
