They're considering renaming Kensington Ice Rink in Burnaby, on Curtis Street, Joe Sakic Rink. What a good idea! I'm for it all the way. Sakic is one of the most famous people to come out of Burnaby, without a doubt. He's reached the pinnacle of hockey, winning the Stanley Cup, the Hart Trophy, the Lady Byng, the Olympic gold medal, MVP in Stanley Cup and Olympic series....he's pretty much done it all. And he's somehow gained the moniker "Burnaby Joe". Is that just in BC that he's known by that? Maybe. But anyways, Burnaby Joe is pretty much Burnaby's pride and joy. They've named a street after him already. A rink would be just great. He's such a classy guy too, no doubt about that. Well deserved accolades for Joe.

In other hockey news, a girl died after being hit in the head with a puck in Columbus the other day. Tragic. Dangerous stuff.

are you being sarcastic or are you literally jumping for joy here? I cant tell the diff.

i think they've already given him the street... he doesn't need a rink too. (or, give him the rink...but take the street back... i liked it just fine with the name it already had) either way... it's not like he's saved any lives or ruled the country. =P

perhaps not. but then what has mr. kensington ever done for us? and i count it as a positive that he hasn't ruled the country. the last thing i want in my neighbourhood is a jean chretien street, or a kim campbell street, or a brian mulroney street.
