OAC World Issues
NGO Portfolio

Each student is required to produce a portfolio, valued at 5% of your final mark, documenting any Non-Governmental Organization that works towards international development, peace, education or health. You must identify your NGO early in the semester.

Your portfolio should include information in the following areas:

  1. Local contact info
  2. Website info
  3. Financial info
  4. The NGO’s mission statement, goals, etc.
  5. Where the NGO operates
  6. Case studies of success
  7. Photos, brochures, posters from the NGO
  8. An original introductory paragraph describing why you chose this NGO
  9. An original written statement (page long or so) of why your NGO deserves support
  10. An original poster providing visual information about your NGO
  11. Any other relevant information

Items 8, 9 & 10 should be targeted to high school students.

Work submitted after the due date established in class will be penalized 20 marks.

Evaluation:
Design and packaging - 5 marks
Information Comprehensiveness - 10 marks
Written Work - 25 marks
Poster - 10 marks
