Singapore is located in south-east Asia at the southern tip of the Malaysian Peninsula, between Malaysia and Indonesia. It has
a total area of 632.6 sq km of which 622.6 sq km is land. Singapore is an island with 193 km of coastline. The country is a
focal point for south-east Asian sea routes.
The climate in Singapore is tropical - hot, humid and rainy with no pronounced rainy or dry seasons. Thunderstorms occur on
40% of all days (67% of days in April). The terrain consists of lowland with gently undulating central plateau. Natural
resources include fish and deepwater ports.
