Radar Detector: Valentine One from Valentine Research

#1) look in your owner's manual under "Accessory power plug" ("Power, Accessory Plug" for 2000) for info on the source of power. The plug is located at the top left of the passenger foot well, under the toe board. I used the yellow wire because I want my detector on only while the engine is running. I soldiered the yellow and black wires.

#2) Once you've connected the cord at the power plug, you can pretty easily fish the wire up through the dash (actually to the right of the dash) to the pillar. The covering or molding along the right side of the windshield is removed by a firm pull from the inside top with your fingers curled in as far as you can get them in there between the windshield and the molding. There are four fasteners on the molding, but no tools are needed, just a firm yank. However, you dont have to actually fully remove the covering. Just pry it off a bit with your fingers. I pried up on the door side, not the windshield side.

#3) Once you've run your cord up the pillar, there's plenty of room between the top molding and the windshield to hide your cord without ever having to remove the molding.

Radar Detector Mount: mirror mount, from Great Lakes Trophy and Engraving

#1) Remove the mirror screw with a T-20 Torx bit. I heard T-15 but T-20 worked on my 2000.

#2) Install mount over the mirror. The screw pins the mirror against the metal windshield bracket
