#1) When this unit powers on it emits three loud beeps which are not pleasant every time you turn your car on. I made a circuit which mutes this sound. You might call it a Time Delay Relay.

#2) You need an 5 pin SPDT (Single Pull Double Throw) Relay, an NPN Darlington transistor, a big capacitor and some resistors to tune the circuit. The exact values for the cap the resistor depend on the resistor values inside the Darlington. The bigger the cap, the longer the delay will be.

#3) The Highway Patrol Alert does not work in every state. It does seem to work in NY and some southern states like NC & SC.
update November 2002:
you can get a decent price for this unit on ebay if you ever choose to sell it. i've just sold mine for $122.
i would sell you the muting mod circuit since i dont need it anymore... but i would have to charge you a bit for it, because i have to tear the car apart to get it. let me know if you are interested.
