Because of the merger of Geocities and Yahoo... (you would not believe how hard it is to edit a page now... keeps telling me I have to have a home page (???), I am in the process of moving the site to advanced web creations... you will start seeing tawn.com hopefully by the end of the week.

This meeting is Extremely important!!!
We will be voting to ammend our By-Laws. The By-Law we will be voting on to ammend is 2.0, about being able to run for director.
I will have everything posted here as soon as I get the minutes.
The reason for this request is currently we have a very limited pool of people eligible to run for the office of director.
Of those eligible... no one wants that position :(
However we do have members that would be great in the position of director, but they have not served a year (I'm sorry if I make it sound like a prison sentence ~~ it isn't ~~ really) on the board.
Carol has let the membership know this is the last year she is willing to run as director for a while...
rather we want her to have one or not...
she does have a life :)
Some of us were shocked to find this out.
Anyway... this put the fear of the Goddess in us :) and we voted to "vote" for an ammendment to our By-Laws, so next meeting is VERY IMPORTANT.
Come out and say HI! Become a member (all it takes is to fill out the membersip application and pay your $5.00 annual dues -- as long as you do this by the noon meeting you are eligible to vote) and VOTE!
This is also the meeting we will be nominating our candidates for the board and for the position of director. To be eligible for the board you must have been an active member of TAWN (coming to the meetings, giving feedback, constructive whatever etc.). You MUST also be willing and ABLE to be open about your Paganism. As a board member, your address is a matter of public record (no it can not be a PO Box :).
Just imagine the day when we (all of us... NOT just us in Tucson) can live openly and freely as Pagans and have our friends, neighbors, employers, etc... respect our Religion, our beliefs and our Sabbats! WOW!
What a FANTASTIC turn out we are having. Please join us, all are welcome. No matter your beliefs we can all work together to create a reality that works to the benefit of all...
Even if everyone agrees we will never completely agree!
WOW!!! Is it the heat or what?
Since it is after the Spring Equinox, and before the Fall Equinox (The April meeting began our 10 am till 1 pm meetings), we meet from 10 am till 1 pm.
The business meeting, no matter the time of year, is always at Noon.
We have been growing so much this year,please bring chairs, blankets, and other things to be able to sit on.
Location for the Cauldron-Lucks is La Madera park.

The 12th annual Fall Festival Will take place Saturday, September 18, 1999.
The theme for The TAWN 12th Annual Fall Festival is "A Day Of Myth and Magick".
We expect it to be even bigger and better.
The location was (and will be) at Reid Park.
Music for 1998 was supplied by an extremely talented group called "The Bringers"
and a solo artist who has held us spellbound many years...

During Fall Fest, we also elect our Board of Directors.
If you would like to run for the Board, now is the time to get your name out there!

There are only a few requirements for being on the Board:

To be a member of TAWN for one year as of the previous years Fall Festival. (Unless you have been a member for a year or more previously.)
To commit to being at all of the meetings; Cauldron-Luck and --Board meetings--usually no more than 4 a year.
Commit to staying a board member for the year you are elected for (we realize life happens though:) .
To run for Director (Carol would ~*~Kiss~*~ your feet!)
All you need to do is... be a member for a minimum for a year, and have been a member of the Board for minimum of one year...
NONE of that needs to be consectutive, so those who have just come back to TAWN are free, welcomed and implored to run.

Wow, what a great turn-out we are having at our Cauldron-Lucks. We are meeting so many new people and many are joining the membership of TAWN. Some of us got into a GREAT conversation about Diversity at a past Gathering. A new member told us about a group she belonged to that talked about how diverse they were, but the people that were different were made to feel they were not enlightened.
TAWN is a network of many different types of people, on just about every kind of Path you can imagine.
We have herbalists, silver workers, gemologists, vegans and meat eaters, activists and pacifists, and
absolutely, positively everything in between.
From my experience, the only wrong way, is if you think your way is the only way!
I hope one day we can all keep that in perspective...
Recently I have had contact with some great people who
(although they claim Christianity :)
have wanted to learn more about Wicca and Paganism in general.
Maybe our World does have a future that is bright,
just because they, or me, or you...
are not pounding someone else on the head yelling...
"OK, LISTEN UP PEOPLE... IT'S MY WAY OR THE HIGHWAY!"
Or, you will burn in Hell...
Or, the Goddess won't love you anymore

My name is Evelyn, I am currently the Treasurer for TAWN.
I am also on the Board of Directors.
I am not running for re-election this Fall, so we will have at least one seat that will need to be filled.
From my calculations all Board Seats need to be filled,
and if any member would like to run for Director, toss your hat out there come August!
I have been on the Board of Directors and Treasurer for TAWN for almost three years now, and it is time to get some new people to help our organization grow. You can help make a difference!

forward thinking, and accepting Town/City as Tucson Arizona.
501(c)(4) Status
At our meeting Jan. 11, 1998 Richard, our Asatru Accountant, informed us we have achieved 501(c)(4) status... Thank you so much Richard for the work, energy, and time you have given to us to accomplish this. It was a lot of work, and it continues as we push for the acceptance and the 501(c)(3) status we deserve.
To assist us on this path, we have a newly volunteered educational committee of seven people who want to see TAWN assist our community (and yours) to learn what Witchcraft and Paganism really is. Most of us do NOT stand out in a crowd, and many who (stand out in a crowd that is,) do not know what Witches and Pagans are.

The Davis' have once again been busy coordinating the Fifth Annual Liberty Spirit Gathering! Check out the info we have so far, at SPIN, or the Rules and Regulations. This is just preliminary info at this time.

Ashleen has asked for volunteers who are willing and able to correspond with prisoners asking for guidance and pen-pals. Ash made sure to mention some of the people requesting aid may not be truthfully seeking their Spiritual Path as much as they are seeking a power trip, so be aware. If you are interested, please e-mail ashleen@juno.com
Carol has been working with inmates at the prisons in our area.
Carol is only one person though. We have other people who have started the process for assisting her. All interested parties would have to go through extensive background checks, and would be finger-printed. If you are interested in this, please e-mail me and I will forward your information. Our two Carol's have been busy working with prisoners here. The prison officials have been very open to their direction and input.

A special note to Covens and other groups: Remember, volunteer Ritual leaders pick the date for the Ritual. Please do not refrain from leading an Open Ritual because your Coven/group is holding its own Ritual/Celebration on a given date. Simply lead the Open Circle on another day of your choice. We all greatly appriciate the extra effort involved, and extra effort brings extra blessings!

Submit it to me via e-mail or at the cauldron-lucks (it does not need to be in HTML format), if approved (ie- no pornography, or blatantly offensive material) Instead of griping about something you have no control over, to people who also have no control... write it up, submit it, and you can see your work here within a week!
Another thing I would Really Like to see, is "How did you come to this Spiritual Path?".
There are so many people out there who are seeking just as we once were, if they had a place to see others went through the same kind of searching... I don't know how to express my desire in that realm... I'll think on it. Anyway, if you would like to write up how you came to the Path you now walk, and submit it to me... I will post them verbatim. Include (or DO NOT include) as much personal or contact information as you desire.
