WELCOME..., I signed up on July the 5th of 1998 and am still just beginning to move in,
as you can see, I'm quite a slow mover! Please be patient as you proceed, as the site is nowhere near finished.
For the time being, this page is scarcely more than a conglomeration of ideas, of hopes, of a vision. However, it is intended to become the homepage of the band, "Further", as well as being a springboard for the multi-faceted extension of the band... The Further Foundation.
My name is Ranger Lacy (not Ranger Lacey), and currently I live in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains near West Liberty, Kentucky. I am not a park-service provider, it's my name. I am looking for musicians to play, gig, or record with who are from the surrounding area. I am mainly seeking to team up with another songwriter at the moment, one who shares some common ideals and vision. As far as ideals go, I want to both create music and write lyrics that are intended to be uplifting and helpful to others. I understand that can cover quite a wide range of feelings and motifs, and that love and truth is not so easily fit inside a narrow mold, so I am prepared to look deep into the heart of the song.
As far as vision goes, I seek to create a "band" that will 1) play songs which can be helpful and hopeful to mankind and support tolerance and harmony within the world, 2) concentrate on creating and playing quality versus quantity... although quantity isn't despised to be sure, 3) not get caught up in the "need-based" illusion of having to sign to a large record-label and thus sell our souls for a pot of porridge as it were, 4) intend to apply their ideals in their own lives, and thus give a reality and sincerity to the message we bring, and 5) be ready to both be a team-member and not give up for the definite making of this dream a reality.
Also, it would be very cool if you are a talented musician ;)
As for myself, I have thus far mainly pursued a sound that is something of a mix between Led Zeppelin's more melodic music (such as Stairway, Ramble On, Goin' to California) and some of Dave Matthews more harmonious stuff (such as Sattelite, One Sweet World, Space Between) [with several other influences as well as my own] -- but I am very flexible on that as long as it serves the band's main purpose -- to go Further.

Email me at rasselas.general05@mailnull.com in the meantime if I can be of any help, or leave a message in my address book . Please come back soon and visit this ever evolving site. And if you're an inventor, I am too!
