This is a list of weblinks to sites the monks support,
and urge you to support as well.
- Center for Process Studies
- An academic center dedicated to the application of the Process philosophy of A.N. Whitehead to many areas, such as theology, economics, ecology, justice, and education. A worthwhile and ground-breaking institute.
- Music From the Hearts of Space
- This is an organization for the research, experimentation, and dissemination of recorded ambient or contemporary "space" music. The goal is to understand and exploit the new possibilities in aural reality brought on by the advent of electronic music and a rapidly shrinking world. A facinating and informative site.
- Poets International
- A growing group of poets and poetry-lovers who meet on the web for their art and their edification. Many original works and opportunities for submissions, as well as the famed "poetry wall"!
- Institute for Global Communication
- The Institute seeks to bring together views which call for an end to war, nuclear proliferation, human rights abuses, and to seek growing opportunities for interpersonal communication between nations and individuals. WELL worth a visit.
- PoetsHaven
- An informal webpage that brings together original poetry from webdenizens across the country and around the world. Very low key, it's a nice break from high-brow internet writing.
- Sierra Club
- The America's largest grass-roots environmental organization, over half-million strong. Join up and help the revolution. Currently calling for a total moratorium on national forest logging, and the draining of Lake Powell and Glen Canyon dam.
-
World Tibet Day
- This is an organization that is devoted to the people of Tibet, subjugated by Chinese policies since 1950. They are helping mobilize thousands of people around a single day of awareness for the struggle in Tibet; please, visit their site and be impressed! "When anyone is oppressed, no one is free."
- Amnesty International USA
- The largest human rights group in the world. Opposes all forms of torture, political "disappearances," religious persecution (Amnesty is NONsecterian), and supports ending all state-sponsored murders (ie. the death penalty). Please consider visiting them--this is the one site the monks unanimously support heart, mind, and soul.
