Dear Friends of John Laurence, John Laurence's Grand Nephew Andy Rauch in San Diego asked us to pass along the sad message that John passed away in San Diego, California on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 9:45 pm. John was admitted into the hospital 2 days prior. He had just turned 95 years old on January 6, 2003. We are all saddened by the loss of our beloved friend and teacher "JL". For him, as he told us many times, it is a time of joyous graduation. May we all feel the blessings that Reverend John Laurence has showered upon us every day of his life. We know he will continue to be an inspiration to all who think him near, as his love and joy live on and on, in continuous and dedicated service to God. As messages of sympathy are pouring in with Andy and us in response our sad news of John's passing, we have created a message board where you are encouraged to post your condolences, memories, reflections, photos and stories of John, so not just we but everybody on this list can see and read them. That's where everybody can share their experiences with John and miraculous stories about the many ways in which John has touched all of our lives! It is also the place that John's Grand Nephew Andy and other close San Diego friends chose to write open letters to all of JL's friends about their last touching hours with John.
