One of our church members, Olga Dorohova, has a great heart and tremendous plans in the ministry for the children. She is the president of the Charity Children Foundation "Help for Children". For the last 2,5 years approximately 25 thousand children from different orphanages, boarding schools, low income families and children with disabilities have received charitable aid of some sort through this Foundation. In particular, 6 orphanages in the city of Moscow have been receiving this aid on a regular basis.

She has many contacts in different areas of social, economical and political life of our country and knows how to make things go forward. She has a vision to start building a joint Russian - American Children's Health Center that would become a center of Christian education for the children of Russia.

Our first need concerning "Help for Children" program is to provide the Children's Health Center with at least 1 full-time Christian children's minister.

Following is her letter. Please read it prayerfully.

Dear friends!

As you very well know, the doors in Russia are closing for the Gospel. Our laws become more and more strict every month, the bill recently signed by Yeltsin only proved it once again. Russian Orthodox Church is doing everything in its power to hinder Christians of other denominations in their work. And it is especially hard to work with children. Even a couple of years ago it was no problem for an American Christian to come to a school in Russia and share the Word of God with the school children. And now this situation is next to impossible. Not only foreigners, but also native Russian Christians cannot preach in schools any longer, unless they are Russian Orthodox believers. And, as sad as it may sound, they normally do not teach The Bible in Russian Orthodox churches.

The situation is frightening. People over 30 years of age became skeptics: all they believed in before had been destroyed. Poor economical conditions redouble their skepticism. They do not believe in God, because during their whole lives they were told not to. They see no hope, that is why vodka and drugs became best friends for most of them. Their children have no values, and they are the future of our country. According to the statistics we have over 4 million (!) homeless kids in Russia. Tomorrow they will be adults without any moral standards. And, since Russia is a very big and powerful nation, it is a tremendous threat to the rest of the world. By changing our children, inputting the Word of God into their hearts, we could change gloomy future of this great country into a shiny one, bringing the Truth to many other nations worldwide!

And today we have this opportunity. The Charity Children Foundation "Help for Children" is going to start building a joint Russian - American Children's Health Center that would become a center of Christian education for the children of Russia. All the preliminary arrangements are made. We located a former resort area not far from Moscow. We made the preliminary agreements. We found an appraiser, a subcontractor. If everything works out, it will be our joint property. The Center will be open all year round. We will have many kids, both underprivileged and from normal families, and they will stay there 21 days before the next group comes in. Three weeks is enough time to preach Jesus to them. Nobody will tell us what to do or have the authority to keep us from doing what we think is right. But there is one condition that we have to meet. Before we can start anything there we need to attract some initial investments. This is going to be a business project, we have all the calculations made and we anticipate a very good outcome. I have great experience in children's tourism and also good connections and opportunities to spin-up a business like that. Part of the investments has to come from America, otherwise our government officials would not allow us to call the center Russian - American, which means that it would remain strictly Russian property and would have to obey Russian laws...

Please think and pray about the situation. Tell your friends and your church members about it. Is there any way you can help? This may be the only opportunity for American Christians, for true believers to maintain their presence in Russia if the door is closed...

May the Lord bless you abundantly. Let me hear from you soon.
