RUSSIAN MINISTRY NEWS LETTER: JANUARY 1999

Dear friends!

Well, the Year 1999 is here!
Just recently we finished celebrating Christmas. We had two very good Christmas services. Why two? Because Russian Orthodox Church is orthodox even in calendar, so they are celebrating Christmas on 7th of Jan. 7th and 8th are official Christmas holidays in Russia. So we, Evangelical Christians, have a good opportunity to celebrate twice- Dec. 25th and Jan 7th. This is even better!
We are praying that the Year 1999 for Russian economy and politics will be more stable than the past year. The huge country has become increasingly strained by economic, ethnic and religious tensions, especially over anti-Semitism in certain sections of the Communist party, which is the biggest grouping in parliament. The danger of Communist revanche has appeared at the horizon again.
However, we can observe that Christians have grown stronger in their faith and in prayer. God's grace is abundant!!
We were enabled by the God's grace to lead to Christ more than 80 people since last September. Our brother Igor has spent more than 3 month in very difficult mission field in Uzbekistan- Central Asia's Muslim republic. He sent us several reports, saying that he is exited and happy to be in the middle of God's will for his life.
We gathered enough money to purchase and start renovating an old building in Drezna. The church in Drezna is the one without a building for more than a year.
Finally we bought and sent out to Christians in prisons 250 vitamin packages together with some tea and pork. This was real Christmas present for them!
We want to express our deep gratitude to everybody who supported our ministry. We are praying for God's continual blessing upon you! We also believe that those who sow will also reap: "For with the same measure that you mete withal it shall be measured to you again" (Lk. 6:38).
Please, continue to pray for our anti-abortion ministry. I know that with this anti-abortion tool we have open doors to evangelize students in public schools, which are closed for direct preaching. We will have our first meetings on Jan 18th.
If you feel that God encourages you, you can make financial contributions through
JFR ministries 5955 Clate court, Ellenwood, GA 30294

All contributions of course are fully tax-deductible. Checks should be made with a note: for Revival Christian Center in Moscow.
Thank you for all your gifts and prayers. They make the difference!
Would you please share this newsletter as well as our address with other Christians.
God bless you!

Andrew Blinkov
