Love And Such by Herb Arnold |

I have loved before neither wisely nor too well; I have kissed before but from a kiss I could never tell How high love had flown. I have loved before, but the poets and I Had differing opinions as to wherefore and why The depth of love was known. Poets and songwriters have, for what it is worth, Described true love as Heaven on Earth And uplifting the soul. Love makes all things possible they said in their lies; Love is beauty and joy and music and sighs! I found it to be an empty bowl. While I may have soared high and my soul was content, Heaven was never arrived and my soul, it lay spent After the passage of time. Love has been an ephemeral thing; Never quite believing that with truth it did ring. Hence the purpose of this rhyme. The touch of your lips, the sound of your voice, Leaves me in such a state that I simply have no choice But to admit I was wrong! Poets and songwriters have been right in the past! Love is all they claimed it to be, now that I've found you at last! True love as in poem and song. |
