Immigrant James London (Lonnen) was born ca 1832 in Suffolk, England. According to the palce of birth of his first child, Mary, James came to America before 1854, arriving at the Port of New York. He was naturalized, 8 September 1859. In 1875, James and Eliza London (Lonnen) lived on the "Lonin"Road in Somerset, Niagara County, NY.

Although in the 1875 census for Niagara County, the name is spelled "Lonnen", the spelling "London" appears on the NY Immigration list, NY 1851-1891and in the 1880 census for Somerset, Niagara Co., NY.
