Why was the great pyramid created?

The four air vents It was not designed as a necropolis (tomb for the dead)

Why would they put air vents in if it was?

Four air vents, two to the Queens chamber and two to the Kings chamber very effectively circulate air through the pyramid.

Any circulation of air would help with the decomposition of any body placed within the pyramid

It's Position in Egypt

Isaiah 19:19 In that day there will be an altar to the Lord in the midst of the land of Egypt, and a pillar to the Lord at its border. 20And it will be for a sign and for a witness to the Lord of hosts in the land of Egypt.
It is in the midst (right in the centre of Egypt) but also on the border (it is on the border between the habitable part of Egypt & the desert border) see picture below
