what it is this called Christmas?
hey,..... what's it all about?
i was just passin by this place
and all i know is nought.
is it the story of your heroes?
a legendary tale?
compassion in the midst of war?
or an act of bravery doomed to fail.
was it when you showed courage?
when it was easier to turn,
was it when you quelled desire?
when desire truly burned.
when you sought for no reward?
or when you declared your fault
when you loved for no gain,
endured the pain?
when a soul could not be bought?
are you commemorating no judgement?
when the judgement was surely due.
when one gave their life?
or..... for,
the birth of something new?
Ahhhhr... for these are the things
that all beings revere.
tales of courage for love
and victory over fear.
grace to a world
which has had it revealed.
the true GIFT of Love,
and its covenenant sealed.
