My hope is built on nothing less Than Jesus' blood and righteousness; No merit of my own I claim, But wholly lean on Jesus' name. 2. When darkness veils his lovely face, I rest on his unchanging grace; In ev'ry high and stormy gale My anchor holds within the veil. Refrain Refrain On Christ, the solid rock, I stand; All other ground is sinking sand. 4. When he shall come with trumpet sound, Oh, may I then in Him be found, Clothed in His righteousness alone, Redeemed to stand before the throne! Refrain PSALM 121 I lift up my eyes to the hills--from where will my help come? My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth. He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber. He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade at your right hand. The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night. The LORD will keep you from all evil; he will keep your life. The Lord will keep your going out and your coming in from this time on and forevermore. The candle is also lighted during all baptisms to symbolize the resurrection character of the individual(s) being baptized. The use of the Paschal Candle at funeral and memorial services is meant to link our baptism with our physical death, as physical death is the completion of our baptism into Christ. Death has been transformed into the gateway through which God raises up a new person in the perfect form which God originally intended. This new and perfect person is the one whom God raises to live eternally with him. Do you not know that all of us who have been baptised into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? Therefore we have been buried with him by baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too might walk in newness of life. -For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his.
