If you are a teacher, or know a teacher who might be interested in using the History of Philosophy Guide in Verse in their classes, either as a booklet or a PDF file, please have the teacher e-mail me a request for a free review copy. Their academic and school affiliation, and a web link with this information, if it is available on-line, should be included with this request.
The booklet could be ordered and paid for with a credit card or an electronic check through Paypal, the popular on-line clearinghouse for secure and safe credit card and banking transactions. Paypal has over 20 million registered users, and is now owned by Ebay. There is no charge for transactions by Paypal buyers. You may click the Paypal logo at the bottom of this page to place your order through their secure web site. You may this opportunity to open an account with Paypal, if you do not yet have one, in the course of placing this order.
Upon receipt of payment, Paypal will send an automatic e-mail confirmation of the order to me at orders@historyofphilosophy.org . Shortly after receiving the confirmed order, I will send you two e-mails each of which will include your Adobe eBook file, as an attachment. Please e-mail me at orders@historyofphilosophy.org if there is a delay, and I'll get the files right out to you.
Each of the PDF files described below, has many local links. This means that the hyperlinks will work even if you are not on-line. Being on-line would, however, enable you to order more PDF files or booklets, or to visit the author's other web sites, links to which are included.
Your Adobe download will contain two PDF files, (unzipped so you don't need to unzip them). Each file is about 170k in size, so they could both could easily fit on a floppy diskette. The two attached files are phil-poems-adobe.htm and phil-poems-whitebgcolor.htm
The first file you will receive, phil-poems-adobe.pdf, with an orange background, is your screen file. The 2nd email attached file, with a white background, called phil-poems-adobe-whitebgcolor was created for ease in printing. The file with the orange background could be printed, but it would print out the orange background. The white background will allow for a faster printing, and easier reading on paper. Of coure, you could make t he latter your main file for screen viewing. If you know of a way to print an Adobe Acrobat file that has a color background as a ordinary white background, please let me know, and I'll send free my Philosophy eBook to 3 of your friends!
