EARLY HARVEST (LAMMAS) Calendar time: The Fall Equinox or very shortly thereafter. Recommended velocia or planetary time: Thursday, velocia of Air, beginning early in the day. Failing this, Sunday may be allowed, same velocia or even Hour of Jupiter, if equally convenient. Color charges, tools, special notes: As this is essentially a series of strolling picnics, a number of baskets are needed to carry foodstuffs. A horn o' plenty (or a basket shaped like same) would be especially significant. Blue set off with orange is particularly appropriate as is a blue ground-cover or table cloth. Place from which to start: Jupiter Method of circumambulation: Balanced, returning to center at last. EARLY HARVEST i. (All are met at the point of the sun.) Voice #1: "We are met this morning to toast the Sun in its splendid play upon this glyph, for such is our pleasure and our duty as the Magicians of the Glyph. Ours is a task enjoined of our Will, and gladly do we labor for its completion. We praise the names of those who have gone before us and who inspire our efforts in our own time--we praise the names of those who are yet to come." ii. Invocation: "We would pass through the veil of the Shining Light to accomplish the works of Tipareth. In this place and upon this day in which we venerate the name of Jove, we would raise our inward gaze to the divine vitality in the Sphere of the Sun, ever more clearly to know and to apprehend that effulgent glory. " (Battery: 4-2) Invocation #2 "Shining Prince of Day!--through thine all-giving and most potent gaze we are wrought of star-fire, and kin to the glories beyond the spheres. Thine is the measure of Time and thine to bestow are the gifts that outpass Time: delight of life, rapture of life renewed! Thou art the Love which illuminates our love and the beauty which shines forth in the beauty of every being. Thou art present in all: yet now above all and apart from all we invoke thy glorious power. O thou who art ruler of the orb of Shemesh, thou triumphant hero who dwellest in the delightsome palace of Ratzon; thou whose own heaven is many-hued Zabul, the wide region which is the resplendent dwelling of thy glory: now in thy great excellence, that we may partake in the wonder-working beneficence of thy rays, open here upon our construct the luminous gates of thy sphere!" iii. Voice #1: "We have given of the time of our lives and labor of our hands, our hearts and our minds that this Great and Sacred Construct of Tipareth, of Balance and of Harmony may live and dwell in its full beneficent force here in this place. We have walked the lines of Nature's palm, made oblations and given gifts unto the Temples of the Elder Gods, and this we will do again, for we are the Magicians of the Glyph in this day." (A small toast is made, the remainder spilled upon the ground) iv. (The following steps--1 through 5--are repeated at each location beginning with Jupiter and ending with the Sun, the participants conducting themselves in a "balanced" circumambulation.) 1: Pour libations. 2: Voice 2 proposes a toast (at Jupiter, in this particular instance): "To the Bounty of the Glyph! May our cups runneth over!" 3: (All): "Bounty for All!" 4: Impromptu speeches are given in the name of the particular deity, in the manner of thanksgiving for what has passed in the previous year and for those things which are coming to flower in the upcoming season. 5: Brief repast, about 15 or 20 minutes (Each station requires a different toast & response:) Luna: "To the Hidden Wisdom and its poetic precision!" answered by: "To Hidden Wisdom" Mars: "To our Strength! And the Strength in this Glyph" answered by "Strength!" Jupiter again: Visualize the first triangle, just trekked. Battery: 4, then proceed to Mercury via Sol. Mercury: "To the Splendor of True Magick Made in his Name!" answered by "Hermes! Mercurius! Thoth!" Saturn: "To the Guardian of the Glyph, giver of Inspiration!" answered by "To the Guardian!" Venus: "To the force of Life, the Lust of Being!" answered by "To Life! L'Chaim! etc." Returning to Mercury: Visualize completed hexagram. Battery: 8, then proceed to Sol. Sol: "To the illumination of All, to Light in Extension!" answered by "Light in Extension!" v. All: visualize astral temple of the Sun. Voice #1: "Hail, life enkindling Sun, child of creation's Lord. Oh, thou lone, all-seeing eye of the vault celestial, extend thy light that we may see but dim thy glory that we be not blinded. Unmask thy countenance, O' God of Light, that we may behold the golden splendor that lies at the heart of your being and ours! To thee we give our gratitude! Ever may the effulgent flame of Tipareth illumine the sanctuaries of the Glyph. Ever may its reverberation in Zabul be heard, bestowing upon us the most sacred gifts of magickal dedication, the high ecstasies of Beauty and the true bounty of Harmony. Strength and health unto you!" All: "Aye!" Voice #1: "Welcome the tide of harvest, Tempus Consilii. Welcome the fruits of our labors! Let us share them among all who toil." All: "Aye!" Battery: 3-5-3
