The Formula of the Glyph link

0. It needs to be determined ahead of time where the various points of the greater Glyph would be if projected into the circle that is about to be cast using a compass or other reliable method. That is to say, the smaller Glyph you are making should lie exactly in respect to the magnetic compass as does the greater Glyph, Mercury deviating from magnetic north by the number of degrees which is given to all illuminates of this project. Lamps may be placed at these locations in colors or numbers appropriate to the working, but should not be lit 'ere the rite begins.

1. The saepti (small containers which enclose bits of material from the appropriate places upon the Glyph of the Prime Lodge) are brought forth from all directions unto the place designated for the Sun, where they are placed in a random heap.

2. The wards are set.

3. All perform Clavis Rei Form 1.

4. The Salutation to the Sun is given, ave, East.

5. The saeptus for Jupiter is taken out from the center and located appropriately (and the four lamps are lit, if that is the fashion. The gestures associated with the planets, as well as various suffumigations might also take place) before the following is intoned:

"Let this place be sacred unto Jupiter, wisest of the Sun. We trespass here only to give praise and honor to thee! Let thy judicious and jovial wisdom fanfare the court of Creation!" As it is above and beyond, so is it here and below.

The next saeptus, that of Venus, is taken from the place of the sun and situated in it's appropriate location, after which it is intoned:

"Let this place be sacred unto Venus, lover of the sun. We trespass here only to give praise and honor to thee! Let the 'spark that drives the green fuse toward the explosion of Spring' lend vitality to our marriage of the cosmos! As it is above and beyond, so is it here and below."

The next saeptus, that of Luna, is taken from the place of the sun and situated in it's appropriate location, after which it is intoned:

"Let this place be sacred unto the Moon, beloved daughter of the Sun. We trespass here only to give praise and honor to thee! Let thy swelling and subsiding vision call the tides of the universe! As it is above and beyond, so is it here and below."

The next saeptus, that of Merkur, is taken from the place of the sun and situated in it's appropriate location, after which it is intoned:

"Let this place be sacred unto Mercury, healer and magus, child of the Sun. We trespass here only to give praise and honor to thee! Let thy quick and clever gesture summon the might of the worlds! As it is above and beyond, so is it here and below."

The next saeptus, that of Mars, is taken from the place of the sun and situated in it's appropriate location, after which it is intoned:

"Let this place be sacred unto Mars, fiery brother of the Sun. We trespass here only to give praise and honor to thee! Let thy enthusiasm, resolution and camaraderie enflame the passions of the heavens! As it is above and beyond, so is it here and below."

The next saeptus, that of Saturn, is taken from the place of the sun and situated in it's appropriate location, after which it is intoned:

"Let this place be sacred unto Saturn, eldest child of the Sun. We trespass here only to give praise and honor to thee! Let thy sturdy and timely pace give rhythm and meaning to the days of our time!As it is above and beyond, so is it here and below."

The Bomos is next brought in and placed upon or quite near the saeptus of the Sun, the various tools being arranged upon it. At minimum, It will have the order seal or symbol, the mystic tessera and a lamp, the last easternmost. This is intoned:

"This place is sacred unto itself, sacred also unto the beloved sun, Father of All. We gather here the balance of the celestial family--thine and mine--that we may give praise unto the harmony that accompanies us on our journey through the heavens. Let our machinations be reflected in the mirror of the cosmos and in the depths of the spirit. As we have called it all to sing upon the very hills, so may it dance here in our midst."

5. Proceed to the planet appropriate to the working and trace the hexagram in balanced or unbalanced manner as the need requires. At each point, an invocation to the deity is made. The manner of the invocation is not important, so long as it is sincerely offered, and may come from sources such as Orphic hymns, rites of Planetary Magick or the Planetary Chargings of the Glyph.

6. Find a position west of the bomos, facing east and announce the final solar invocation. After a moment of silence during which the greater glyph is visualized as a great, blazing star brought about by the group's previous efforts, the opening battery is given and the visualization is allowed to fade, yet be known to linger.

7. give the Hymn to all the Gods:

O Gods, ye who guide the course of holy Wisdom, hear me!

Ye who kindle in human souls the flame of return, who lead them back to the Immortals: ye who bestow in your festal songs which are ancient initiations, the power to win free from the dark cavern of ignorance.

Hear me, great Lords of Freedom!

Grant me by knowledge of the holy writings, by dispersal of the night which encircles me, a high and true perception: that I may truly know the incorruptible God, and the Man that I am.

Let me never as a supreme misfortune, in forgetfulness turn my face from you: never may a dread retribution bind me to earthly life, or my soul to its icy deeps:

For my desire is not to linger therein.

Hear me, O Gods, Sovereigns of the Radiant Wisdom: and reveal to one who hastens on the ascending path of return, the ecstasies and the initiations which are enshrined in the divine words.
