The Rite of Opening the Glyph.

Calendar time: Vernal Equinox + a few minutes to a few days.

Recommended velocia or planetary time: Dawn is best. Second best would be
the first velocia of Spirit following the dawn, followed by any velocia of
Spirit of planetary hour of the Sun.

Color charges, tools, special notes: Colors ought to be appropriate to
Mercury with an allowance made for bright yellow. The basic kit should contain
a bottle (or two if there's a whole lot of folks) of champagne, enough glasses
to go around, the swinging brass censer, a blend of incense derived from solar
correspondences (but go lightly on the cinnamon, for that is a principal
ingredient in the Midsummer rite), and a small amount of tobacco obtained from
the sort of cigars that are gleefully handed out at the birth of any infant in
our society.

Place from which to start: Mercury.

	Method of circumambulation: Balanced, Mercury to Saturn to Venus to Mercury;
across to Jupiter, to Luna to Mars and back to Jupiter; proceed last to center.

					i.
Lots are cast to see who takes the various speaking parts, battery, etc.

Voice #1: "We are met this day to bid the Sun welcome! Such is our
pleasure and our duty as Magicians of the Glyph!"

(A round is poured and a toast made. "To Life!" and "L'Chaim!" are appropriate.)

"Ours is a task enjoined of our Will, and gladly do we labor for
	its completion."

(Toast)

"We praise the names of those who have gone before us and who inspire our efforts in
our own time--we praise the names of those who are yet to come. We give praise unto
the 3 Names of Mercurius, Hermes Thoth--everlasting God of Magick and of merchants!
Bring our efforts, sacred magick and mundane trade, to fruition as you preside over
	the life of our Glyph."

Invocation: "We would pass through the veil of the Shining Light to
accomplish the works of Tipareth. With highest mind and with all our being we
would raise our inward gaze to the divine vitality in the Sphere of the Sun,
ever more clearly to know and to apprehend that	effulgent glory."

(Toast)

				ii.

(Battery: 6--becoming faster at each beat Cense with tobacco and the usual solar mix.)

Invocation #2:"Shining Prince of the New Day!--through thine all-giving and most potent
gaze we are wrought of star-fire, and kin to the glories beyond the spheres. Thine is
the measure of Time and thine to bestow are the gifts that outpace Time: delight of
life, rapture of life renewed!"

(Toast)

"Thou art the Love which illuminates our love and the beauty which shines forth
in the beauty of every being. Thou art present in all: yet now above all and apart from
all we invoke thy glorious power. O thou who art ruler of the orb of Shemesh, thou
triumphant hero who dwellest in the delightsome palace of Ratzon; thou whose own heaven
is many-hued Zabul, the wide region which is the resplendent dwelling of thy glory: now
in thy great excellence, that we may partake in the wonder-working beneficence of thy rays,
open here the luminous gates of thy sphere!"

(Toast)

				iii.

Voice #1: "In the past we have given the time of our lives and the labor of our
hands, our hearts and our minds that this Great and Sacred Construct of	Tipareth, of
Balance and of Harmony may live and dwell in its full beneficent force here in this place.
We have walked the lines of Nature's palm, made oblations and given gifts unto the Temples
of the Elder Gods, and this we will do again, for we are the Magicians of the Glyph in this
day."

(Empty the remainder of the glasses upon the ground. Cense with a bit more
tobacco--not a great wad of it.)

					iv.

(The Lesser Glyph is now brought out and revealed, kept in its "face-down" position.)

Voice: #2: "This, the 2nd year of the Greater Glyph's awakening has come!
In the times of darkness and of uncertainty, this Lesser Glyph has stood
as a symbol of the larger reality of our effort. As the Sun's life
enkindles creation on this day we bid welcome to this New Life!
Welcome to the Tide of Seeding, Tempus Sementis. May our fortunes double
and our lives be enriched. Praise the names: Mercurius, Hermes, Thoth!"

(a round for all is poured.)

All: "Let it be."

(Toast)

			v.

(The Lesser Glyph is turned upwards and the Key placed upon it, oriented upon
the glyph.)

Voice #1: "Hail, life enkindling Sun, child of creation's Lord. Oh, thou lone,
all-seeing eye of the vault celestial, extend thy light that we may see but dim
thy glory that we be not blinded. Unmask thy countenance, O' God of light, that
we may behold the golden splendor that lies at the heart of your being and ours!
To thee we give our gratitude! Ever may the effulgent flame of Tipareth illumine
the sanctuaries of the Glyph. Ever may its reverberation in Zabul be heard,
bestowing upon us the most sacred gifts of magickal dedication, the high ecstasies
of Beauty and the true bounty of Harmony. "

All: "Welcome! Welcome Home!"

(Toast. )

Further activity: A balanced circumambulation is made. At each place made sacred to
a particular force, the appropriate orisons are made, taken from the initial Rites of
Charging, including the sacrificial tokens, if desired, but they are not held to be
strictly necessary, even though desirable. Return to center, and, after giving the
appropriate orison, make the visualization of the Glyph renewed and shining. Construct
and strengthen the appearance of the astral temples, starting with the point of Mercury
where this rite began, moving clockwise, until the center is accomplished last.

(Finish with the battery: 3-5-3)
