Words from a Friend

Sometimes she listens, sometimes she speaks, but most of all, she learns.  One thing most people know about Kimberly Matthews is that she is a student of life.  Having to learn the most hurtful part of life at an early age has made Kimberly a strong and tenacious messenger for all of us.  Most of us are adored by her creativity and determination to fix what is wrong and sometimes painful.  She dances eloquently through this life helping others to face our fears with the same pillar she clings to -- God and Family -- everyday.
Reared in Newport News, Virginia, she protects her family and friends with the will that even the most revealing of us can only wish for.  I've know her but for a fraction of the lifetime I hope to, but one thing I know for sure, Kimberly's voice will live on forever.  Her message is clear, treat each other right.  Period.  Of the people I know who know her, a part of Kimberly stays with them.  And it's the bright, strong part.
Take her words, her story in.  Savor it for it speaks to our hearts, our hurt and our laughter.  I am proud to face my fears today because of the strength and footprints that Kimberly leaves behind on her journey to share her yesteryear.  A place all of us have either been or will soon discover ourselves.
Thank you for sharing your hopes, your dreams, your wit, your love and your "cheese fries", Kimberly.  Our place here sings brightly because of you.  Like Quincy Jones once said, "Imagine what a harmonious world it could be if every single person, both young and old, shared a little of what he is good at doing."
