The Historical Society of Battle Creek was formed in 1916 to promote education about and interest in the history of Southwestern Michigan.
Battle Creek has been home to such figures as Dr. John Harvey Kellogg (director of the world-famous Battle Creek Sanitarium and brother to cereal manufacturer Will Keith Kellogg) and Sojourner Truth (ex-slave and ardent abolitionist), and our archives are filled to capacity with primary source materials and artifacts dealing with these and other topics.
