How often is it that we criticise others yet, we tend not to look at ourselves. Perhaps we should take from the example of early Muslims Insha Allah!

A slave (free done) of Abu Bakr (ra) is reported to have remarked that Abu Bakr (ra) said,:'Allah will be soft (compassionate) upon one who is hard on his own self in matters pertaining to Allah, and will save him from His displeasures'

Thabit Ibn Hajjaj (ra) says that Umar (ra) said, 'Weigh your ownselves before you yourself are weighed (by Allah). If you do so today, then tomorrow, on the Day of Judgement, you will have an easy reckoning. So prepare yourself for the Great Reckoning well in advance before comes the Day whereon Ye shall be mustered nothing hidden by you shall be hidden (69:18)'

Anas Ibn Malik (ra) says that one day he was accompanying Umar (ra) and he entered into a garden. There was a small parapet in between us the two and he heard him saying, 'O Commander of the faithfuls! Fear Allah or Allah will surely punish thee' (This he said to himself).
