BLACK

Day by day sensations flash and fade

Amid the Trial of the Century

Hi-pitched rockets' prelude to a storied

Finish, brilliant red and orange parade

Across the public eye until they fade

Black, the pause before sensations' glory

Black who argues that they've ceased to be

Black who lends to Justice somber shade.

Twice Fred Goldman's publicly aired his grief

That the trial to solve his son, Ron's, murder's

Become a morbid feast for every hack

Speculation on every lurid belief

Like O.J.'s drugs, women, Fuhrman's 'nigger'

But until there's Justice, Fred Goldman is black.
