To trump the season’s chill and my ennui
I sought some destination for a trip
A special spot to loosen winter’s grip
That’s when I thought of isles of Hawaii,
At once enthralled with island fantasy
As lifting cups of Nectar to my lips
Imagination knowing this is it:
Lush abundance and ocean memory.
Indeed, Oahu is a tropic dream
Of dolphins, clear blue seas and Banyan trees
Of surfers, sailors, swimmers n’suntanned knees
Unreal beauty is only here, it seemed.
But at home, I found a girl whose national hero
Is Genghis Khan, at home in San Francisco!
