If a person were to begin with a mountain of faith and each day discard one small rock of truth, then eventually such an individual would end up in a bottomless canyon of lies. This is essentially what is meant by the above biblical verse.

A person may believe that he can maintain enough spiritual strength to keep the greater laws and truths without having to worry about the lesser ones but such a belief is a fallacy; it is a distortion of the truth. Unless God intervenes to save such a person, the evil one will continue to wear away at the faith of such an individual until all of it has been eroded and his beliefs are filled with nothing but lies.

Just as the proverbial kingdom was lost because of one nail that fell out of one horse’s shoe, so also will one’s soul be lost because of one small discarded rock of faith. Therefore, one must do everything within his power to obey all the laws of God and believe in total truth. In the words of our Lord, one must be perfect (Mt.5:48).

Because to knowingly and willingly disregard one of God’s laws or to reject truth, no matter how insignificant it may appear to be, would eventually bring ruin. Satan would triumph. But to obey all the laws of God and to believe in total truth as revealed by our Lord would be analogous to constructing an impenetrable barrier between oneself and all evil. Jesus Christ would triumph.

Today, it is a wall of truth built by our Lord, through the works of His servants, that protects one from the lies of the devil. When an individual professes to believe in a lie, he has discarded one of the truths implanted in this wall by God and he is allowing the evil one to control his existence. Such a person has cut down the corresponding fruit tree for that truth which grows in the garden of his soul.

But when one proclaims to believe in a truth, he is restoring a rock of faith into this wall. He is allowing our Lord to come into his life and set him free to learn other truths. He is replanting the tree of life in his soul.

The same analogies given above may also be applied to the Holy Mother Church. If She were to propagate a lie, this teaching would undermine Her ability to triumph over evil. Eventually Satan would destroy all Her truthful teachings and force Her to teach nothing but lies. However, as long as She teaches total truth as revealed by God, the devil has no control over Her. It is Jesus Christ who guides and protects Her.

One of the teachings of the Holy Church is that the soul of man does exist and that it did not evolve from an ape-like pedigree, as did man’s physical body. The Mother Church teaches that man’s soul was created by God and given to man in a divine act of mercy and that man’s soul is a spiritual being created to the image and likeness of God. In order for man’s soul to have evolved from an animal, man would have to be more powerful than God — or in the very least equal to God.

Another teaching of the Holy Church is that mortal beings cannot know of God’s existence unless our Lord first reveals this knowledge. (This was also discussed earlier in the chapter entitled A Living Soul). In order for man to know of God’s mysteries without this information first coming from Him, man would have to be more powerful than God — or in the very least equal to God.

Finally, the Holy Church also teaches that all mankind has inherited Original Sin from Adam and that Baptism is necessary in order to cleanse one of it. In order for man not to have inherited sin, then there could not have been an Original Sin. The idea of sin would then have just evolved along with man’s physical body and his culture and there would be no need for Baptism or redemption from sin. In order for the idea of sin’s existence to have evolved, man would have to be more powerful than God — or in the very least equal to God.

From the above, one should be able to perceive that if the story of Adam and the first sin is not the truth, then either one of two things are true. Either man does not have a soul, his knowledge of God’s existence is a vain belief and there is no such thing as Original Sin or need for Baptism. In short, man is nothing more than a highly intelligent animal.

Two, the teachings of the Mother Church are riddled with lies and myths. A mythical or symbolic Genesis would make void the teachings found therein and negate our Lord’s promise to protect and save His Holy Mother Church from all false teachings (Mt.16:18). A fictitious or allegorical Genesis also cancels the promise of a Redeemer, for it is here that our Lord made His first promise to redeem man from his own sins and thus save his soul.

Man’s need for salvation is one of the most basic teachings of the Mother Church. If Genesis is nothing more than the product of the imagination of some long forgotten prophet, then this could imply that there was no resurrection. Thus, one of the main goals of Christianity would be nullified.

In fact, all of the above theological teachings of the Holy Church are among Her most fundamental beliefs. She teaches that these beliefs are true and that these, as well as all of Her other theological teachings, came to Her from Jesus Christ. If any of Her doctrinal and moral teachings are untrue, then the wall of truth, built by God and protecting Her from evil, is destroyed and Her ability to triumph over Satan is undermined from Her foundation. The evil one would then prevail.

But if Genesis is the truth, then She will triumph over Satan and Jesus Christ will prevail.

From all the above, one must conclude that Genesis cannot be a mythical or symbolic story. Genesis has to be the truth! However, the mysterious wording of Genesis appears to make it a jigsaw puzzle or some kind of poetic imagery which denies that which science proclaims to be true.

Since Genesis was inspired by God and God cannot inspire error, then one must necessarily conclude that it is probably some mystery of our Lord that needs proper interpretation. The explanation presented in the opening chapters of this book is the explanation that proposes to interpret that mystery. Not only does this explanation answer relevant theological and scientific questions but it does so while upholding the doctrinal teachings of the Holy Mother Church and the evolutionary teachings of science.

Finally, the explanation presented in this treatise is a simple one that clarifies apparent contradictions between the Holy Bible and science by manifesting the absolute validity of both. No other explanation of Genesis accomplishes these goals. All other teachings on Genesis discard either the doctrinal teachings of the Mother Church by making them myths or they discard the teachings of science by claiming that such are illogical and illusionary.

It is true that there are many fundamentalists who reject evolution and demand a literal interpretation for the opening chapters of Genesis. They claim that science and the teaching of evolution have been distorted by the godless. There are also many individuals who maintain a belief in evolution but deny and discard the explanation of the creation presented in Genesis. They claim that the story is just some ancient prophet’s method of explaining his one personal God as superior to the many impersonal gods of the pagan religions.

There are some fundamentalists who maintain a literal interpretation of the story of a whale swallowing the prophet Jonah (Jnh.2:1-11). Others give it a symbolic interpretation and claim that Jonah invented the story in order to manifest the great saving power of God. Some individuals claim that the three hours of darkness at the crucifixion of Jesus Christ (Mt.27:45) was a sign from God. Others believe that it was a solar eclipse. They claim that the extended length of time for the eclipse is the fanciful imagination of the apostles.

Josue stopping the sun in its path for a day (Jos.10:11-13), the scene of Jesus Christ walking on water (Mt.14:22-36) and His calming a storm with the wave of a hand (Lk.8:22-26) are all biblical events that are given literal interpretations by the fundamentalists. But others give these, and other apparently unrealistic events, symbolic interpretations.

Some theologians believe that Mother Mary, the mother of our Redeemer Jesus Christ, is Co-Redeemer. Other theologians deny this and claim that She was just a servant of God. Still, there are some who claim that all true Christians are justified by their faith alone (Rom.5:1) and that all other works have no value. However, other individuals claim that membership in a particular church is enough for salvation.

Finally, many individuals believe that the great antichrist mentioned in the Apocalypse is a Hitler-type dictator who will enslave the world, raise a mighty army and force everyone to obey his tyranny, killing all those who oppose him. Others claim that the entire apocalyptic revelation is just a highly imaginative description of the persecutions of the early Christians by cruel Roman Emperors.

These are only a few of the many diverse interpretations of the Holy Scriptures. Today there are as many private and diverse interpretations of the scriptures as there are different translations of the Holy Bible — and no two of them are the same. It should be obvious to all that this is division and that a house divided against itself will fall!

With so many differences, God’s children do not know what to believe; they do not know who is telling the truth.

Christian teachers wonder why so many children are turning to false religious beliefs, religious cults, the occult and other such sources to try to find God’s truth. Christian leaders wonder why their children are turning to false prophets in order to find God. It is because the priests, the clergymen, the preachers and others responsible for teaching religious truth are divided as to what to teach. They have lied to the children of God and deceived them for so long that the children of God cannot believe them even when they do tell the truth.

Consequently, the children of God have no one to guide them; they are leaderless (Ezch.34:2-6). When a child of God cannot obtain the truth from the Mother Church, then he will be lost. More often than not, such a child will turn to other sources in order to find that for which he seeks. Then such children fall victims to every religious charlatan, mind controlling cult and self-appointed prophet that comes along, denouncing the divisions in Christianity and teaching a brotherhood of man and a love thy neighbor policy.

Meanwhile, unbeknown to the lost children of God, the thousands of wolves in sheep’s clothing are teaching them to believe in religious lies. All because of those who are responsible for teaching theological truth are not doing so. Instead, they are giving lame excuses for their “innocence” and teaching their own weird beliefs. Then they have the audacity to praise God while their religion is dying.

Christianity is divided! The Holy Bible teaches against this division (Mk.3:24-25; 1Cor.1:10-13). It should be obvious that there is only one interpretation of the Holy Scriptures, one teaching and one truth, just as there is only one God. It should be obvious that Christianity must unite and obtain one bible, one teaching, one belief, one way, truth and life or Christianity will die!

Unless Christianity defines what a true Christian ought to be believing in, unless the Christian teachers of the law distinguish truth from error, and unless Christianity unites and answers the question “What is truth?” (Jn.18:38), Christianity will die! A divided Christianity cannot withstand the unmerciful onslaught of the godless if the clergy are discarding truths as though they were mere bric-a-brac.

It is a simple statement of truth. One does not need to have great, esoteric wisdom in order to perceive the truth. A divided Christianity will fall. God cannot have this division or Satan will triumph. If the leaders of Christianity fail in their responsibility, because they are too filled with materialism and corruption, then our Lord will keep His promise to St. Peter (Mt.16:18) and intervene to bring His Holy Mother Church out of Her Babylonian captivity and the rest will suffer. Woe be unto the leaders of all Christianity if such should happen!

Unfortunately not only are there individuals who distort the teachings of the Holy Mother Church, there are also those who deny the existence of one, personal God. They also deny the existence of the soul, as well as the existence of sin. They further claim that all religions are just another form of expression of man’s cultural evolution.

Using the divisions among Christians as a “crowbar,” many of these godless individuals teach that the scriptures are nothing more than a philosophy for good living. They claim that Jesus Christ was merely a farsighted philosopher and sage who has been falsely glorified by a divided Christianity. Then using the philosophy of Jesus Christ as a stepping stone, the godless claim that one’s "innerself" will be appeased by obeying His law, the Golden Rule (Mt.7:12).

They further claim, with such an attitude — coupled with free, uninhibited sexual expression — one’s innerself or conscience will cease to plague one’s thoughts with guilt. Then they claim that such a person will be free to realize, as did Jesus Christ, that each person is his own god. All these teachings of the godless leads many children astray, deceiving them into caring for worldly peace and materialistic goals, while caring nought for the peace within the castles of their souls.

These teachings of the godless have their foundation in the theory that all religions evolved along with man’s culture. In the book Origins of Culture, written by Edward B. Tylor (1832 - 1917), the evolution of religion is discussed as great length. The theory proposes that ancient man arrived at what may be called a philosophy of religion by observing and comparing the differences between sleep and death. In an attempt to explain these differences and any dreams he may have had, primitive man gradually developed a belief in spirits, ghosts and souls.

This is animism. From animism the belief gradually evolved into polytheism, the belief in numerous deities. Eventually monotheism, the belief in one, Supreme God, supposedly evolved as man became increasingly more rational.

Today, according to this theory, religion is associated with virtue and ethics and with the function of defining what is morally right and wrong for each individual society.

According to Alfred Kroeber (1876 - 1960) in his book Anthropology Today religion is inconsistent with a society that is based upon scientific reality. His theory claims that religion is progressive in its evolution from a primitive society’s amoral, multiple spirits up to an advanced society’s ethical, personal god.

Thus, it claims that the intellectual development of mankind’s future dictates that religion will be replaced by a scientific, materialistic belief. In short, man’s ongoing cultural evolution will bring him out of a religion-based society and into one based upon science.

The above theory for the origin of religion proposes that religion is nothing more than a deception, although it helped ancient and medieval man answer some of his problems. That is, according to the theory that the High God belief just evolved along with man’s culture, one only needs to forget about God and obey the Golden Rule (Mt.7:12) and peace will then gradually reign in one's soul or conscience.

From all this, and the many divisions presently in Christianity, many individuals have concluded that religion is a wasted effort, and that those who maintain a belief in a personal deity are holding onto a ship that has already received its death blow by the advance of a united science that teaches evolution.

Because the theory that religion evolved along with man’s culture is based upon scientific fact, one must use scientific fact in order to disprove it. One must use scientific evidence to prove that the belief in the existence of one, personal God did not evolve.

This truth becomes even clearer when one considers that in the past every time a theory based upon scientific fact was propagated, and this idea was opposed to a belief based upon a person’s faith in the scriptures, then the scientific truth prevailed. This is because God made this world in such a fashion that scientific fact will always prevail over a person’s beliefs that are based upon the bible.

A few biblical beliefs that have fallen to the advance of science are: The flat, four cornered earth, the geocentric universe, the immovable, eternal mountains, an instantaneous creation and the evolution of man. Finally, today there is the belief that all religions and religious beliefs have evolved along with man’s culture. This belief is based upon the fossil evidence of excavated gravesites, campsites, cave drawings and artifacts of ancient man. But opposed to this belief is the theory that one’s soul and the High God concept both came from our Lord. This theory is based upon the Holy Scriptures.

If the past is any precedent for the future, then one must conclude that what will prevail is science and the theory that all religion, and the idea of the existence of the soul and sin just evolved along with man’s culture. Atheism will then prevail!

Therefore, Genesis must have a scientific foundation and it must be the truth if it is to prevail over the belief that religion evolved. If not, then the only conclusion left is that all religions, including the belief in a High God, evolved along with man’s culture. If Genesis does not have a scientific foundation, then, because of one “mythical chapter” in the bible, the scientific teaching that all religions and religious beliefs are a product of man’s ongoing evolution prevails over Christianity’s teaching that man has a soul and needs redemption from his sins by a personal, loving God.

Thus, if one discards the opening chapters of Genesis in the same fashion that one discards mere bric-a-brac, he throws away his only substantial evidence for his belief in God. This is because Genesis is the only proof that Christianity has that Her religion did not evolve along with man’s culture. Christianity is the fruit of Adam’s seed of faith.

It should be easy to see that if the opening chapters of Genesis are untrue or only symbolically true, it is only a matter of time before a divided Christianity falls to the advance of a united science. Satan would triumph.

Surely, just as a master chess player can see the complications that will arise in a game begun with a poor, impotent opening, so too did our Lord foresee the problems of a mythical Genesis or an untruthful science long before the problems arose.

It should be obvious then that He could not have allowed Genesis, or any other part of His Holy Bible, to be the product of the fanciful imagination of one of His children. God had to make sure that He — and no one else — is the ultimate Author of the Holy Scriptures. God could not have allowed there to be but one, truthful interpretation of the scriptures, that interpretation coming from Him, the Author of all truth.

Nor could He have allowed that which science proclaims to be anything but the truth. He could not have allowed science to have anything but one, factual explanation of the creation, a truthful explanation. Hence, just as He inspired the ancient prophets to proclaim His word, so too, He inspired the scientists to search for truth in their work.

Finally, one need only ask himself which is more glorious and which shows more of God’s magnificence: To believe that our Lord achieved His miracle by “masterminding” billions of years of evolution and hundreds of years “writing” His bible, or that He did that which the heresy of fundamentalism claims and performed some magician’s prank and “pulled Adam out of a hat” in order to accomplish His goal?

One must also remember that God uses common events, normal courses of action and socially accepted norms in order to bring His message to His children. It is Satan and his evil henchmen and vile pseudo-Christians who use cheap gimmicks, glamorous displays of sensationalism and gaudy feats of trickery in order to lure the unsuspecting into their traps.

A true scientist gathers information, does experiments and then makes a logical conclusion based on all the facts. To disregard some of the facts is illogical and not scientific. Also, to start with a preconceived belief about the facts is not logical and not scientific.

To disregard Genesis as a myth or a symbolic story because it does not match one’s conception of how the universe, the earth, life and man were created is to start with a preconceived idea of Genesis. Such is not logical, nor is it scientific.

Also, to disregard what science proclaims about the creation because it does not match one’s interpretation of the Holy Bible is to start with a preconceived belief. Such is not logical, nor is it very scientific.

But to look at all the facts and develop a conclusion based on these facts is to follow a logical course of action. Such is the scientific method and does not contradict Truth.

It should be obvious from the opening chapters of this trilogy that Genesis is not a myth; that Genesis describes the creation of the universe, the earth, life and man as it actually happened. This description is entirely compatible with a realistic, scientific mentality. As it was noted earlier, this is one of the major premises of this book. Another major premise is that this description is hundreds of years old and that there was no one of this world alive at that time with this kind of superior knowledge.

One must remember that whoever originated Genesis was a scientific illiterate. He knew nothing about the scientific explanation of the creation process as one knows it today. Therefore, he could not have developed an explanation of the creation as Genesis describes it through his own efforts. He had to get help from some highly intelligent being.

Logic and a shred of faith tell one that this Omniscient Being of beings, from whom the narrator of Genesis got his explanation of the creation, is the one, personal, loving God worshiped by the Christians, the Jews, the Muslims, Zoroastrianism and many other faiths all over the world, and that this Being gave this information to mankind in order to preserve His Holy Mother Church on earth and His children from believing in lies.

Just as a master chess player, who has begun his game with a strong, well-developed opening, will have a won end game, so too did our Lord begin with truth so that He and His Mother Church could prevail over the foul, twisted lies of the evil one in the end.

Hence, the originator of the creation story in Genesis got his information from God and our Lord gave this information to His ancient priest so that He could destroy forever the godless teachings of the atheists.
