AN EXPLANATION
These articles relate to the subject of "The Acts of God."
Understanding God's Act of Creation: A Christian looks at some ideas on how God Performed His Work.
A consideration of CATASTROPHIC EVENTS and how the Earth might have changed, and may change, suddenly. Or, how Earth is not as stable as the Uniformatarians would have us believe.
Next, Understanding The Flood of Noah. God did do what is recorded: His method may be open to discussion, but that He did do it is not questionable.
Signs In the Heavens: As certainly as God Created this World, then altered it in Noah's Days, He will finish the work He has begun. The signs are visible now. This is a description of just one sign.
It Is Written, "If you hear God's voice today, do not be stubborn, as they were when they rebelled against God." His Witness in these Last Days Invites you to come with us. "Come"
Genesis 1:1-10
1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.
All Acts of Creation occurred simultaneously across the entire universe.
In order for substance to exist, it must have Form and Mass, and occupy three dimensional area, or volume, for a period of Time. Three substantially different things are noted as being created. These are the basis of physical existence:
a) Time: that is, the motion of Creation toward its Purpose.
b) Space: "heaven," a physical location for substance to exist in.
c) Substance: "earth," physical matter.
Form does not exist alone, or separate from Substance.
Shape is an attribute of Substance.
Mass does not exist alone, or separate from Substance.
Mass is an attribute of Substance.
2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
The Planet did not yet exist, as it was empty and without form. Substance was not in motion.
3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Now the Creator sets the substance of the universe in motion. One consequence of substance in motion is perceived as Light. Light is not a thing which was created as was Time, Space and Substance. Light does not exist separate from Substance in Motion, but as the perceived consequence of substance in motion.
4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.
God made "Light" directional, so that it is perceived by its illumination of a solid object. That part of a solid object which is "lighted" points toward the light source. That part of the solid object which blocks light produces 'darkness.'
5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day.
Now Substance is in motion. That substance which falls on one side of the planet produces "Day." That portion of the Planet which receives no Substance in motion (Light) is in Darkness, or "Night." The Planet being in motion on its axis produces alternating Night and Day.
Because Creation began with no Substance in Motion, and no Light, then the First Day begins with darkness and ends at the end of the Day. The Natural Day is from darkness to the evening of the Day.
6 And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.
7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so.
The Planet had been given Form, now the Substance is separated into Liquid and Gas.
8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
9 And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so.
The division of the three States of matter is completed, and the Liquid water is separated from the Land.
10 And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.
In these first verses we have seen the word "earth" used in three ways.
* First was the creation of Substance, Earth. v 1.
* Second was giving the Planet Earth solid Form. v 2-5.
* Third in the separation of the substance into its three states: liquid, gas and solid; and naming one of these solids Earth, or Land, "soil, dirt." v 6-10.
So now we have a) the Substance; b) the Planet Earth; c) the Land, soil or "earth."
We have the waters above; and the waters below, now named "Seas."
We have "Heaven" which is the Space where in Substance exists; and "the heavens" which is the firmament above the "Waters."
Genesis 1:11-31.
11 And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
12 And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
13 And the evening and the morning were the third day.
This is the Creation of the First of Five Types of Life: Plants. Some of the Various Kinds of Plant Life may be cross pollinated, but Plant life cannot cross breed with other Kinds of Life.
14 And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:
15 And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.
All Acts of Creation occurred simultaneously across the entire universe. That is, Substance was created everywhere in, and across, the Universe at the same Time. The body first given Form was the Planet Earth. Now stellar bodies are given form, which includes our Sun and Moon.
16 And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.
17 And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,
18 And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.
19 And the evening and the morning were the fourth day.
20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
This is the Creation of the Second and Third of Five Types of Life. The Second Kind is the Animals living in the Seas: Those which swim. The Third Kind is the Animals which fly: Birds.
Some Kinds of fish may cross breed, and some Kinds of birds may be cross breed, but fish cannot breed with birds.
Each Kind must breed with its own Kind, and each Kind produces its own Kind.
22 And God blessed them, saying, Be fruitful, and multiply, and fill the waters in the seas, and let fowl multiply in the earth.
23 And the evening and the morning were the fifth day.
24 And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so.
25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
This is the Creation of the Fourth of Five Types of Animal Life. This is the Animal live living on the Land. Some Kinds of Land Animals may be cross breed, but Land animals cannot breed with Fish or Birds.
Each Kind must breed with its own Kind, and each Kind produces its own Kind.
26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
This is the Creation of the Fifth Type of Life: Mankind.
Man produces Mankind. Humans cannot breed with Land Animals, Birds, Fish or Plants.
28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth, wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so.
31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.

OR
We don't know what the inner Earth consists of; in other words, "what is in there?" There was one theory, more or less disproved by the "Mohole," of which I have heard nothing since: kind of like the "depth of the dust" theory of the age of the moon.
There is, however, some theoretical basis for thinking that one model may be more likely than another: This idea is based on the "tri-point" of substance.
Substance exists in one of three States: Gas, Liquid and Solid. It is known that certain substances change volume when alternating from one state to the other. One is water and its change to ice, which causes an expansion.
At some temperature a liquid becomes a gas; and a gas may be compressed to occupy less space than in its liquid State. Liquids, for the most part, cannot be compressed to any significant degree. Some few solids, under high heat and pressure, will allow some compression.
May I offer an idea or two?
The idea is; that by present scientific theories, the earth formed from a sphere of hot gas, cooled, compressed or contracted and formed the present body. By this theory, then, some oscillation must have occurred as the ball of gas contracted, or collapsed under gravitational force, and then became a liquid, then expanded or contracted to become solid. In other words, the Planet has not always been the diameter it is now.
Actually, it would seem apparent that some inner layers would be, at times, liquid, or compressed gas or solid by turns as the expansion and contraction continued to reach a stable State, and this present state and time.
There are some theories that the core of the earth is a solid, such as nickel or nickel/iron. This is not, and cannot be, proven. Certainly any alternative theories cannot be proven either, since we cannot get there for direct sampling. There is, I believe, some evidence that a gas, compressed under high heat and pressure, acts--in some ways at least--as a solid.
The Central Inner Core of the earth may be a compressed gas. That this gas is extremely hot and under extreme pressure is understandable. Then, containing the Central Inner Core there may be one or more layers of liquids of various density, viscosity and composition. These inner layers of liquid may then be contained in layers of molten iron/nickel, and these layers then may be contained in layers of very hot and compressed solids such as Iron and Nickel. Layers of stone may come next. Water may be found down to the liquid metal layers. Then, resting on these layers would be the mass of the continents. Or not.
It would seem that as the Planet Body lost heat into the cold of Space that one of the inner layers may change from one State to another. This change may well be, for all practical purposes, instantaneous. In one second an entire layer may change from gas to liquid; or from liquid to solid. The result, depending on the nature of the substance, would be either a contraction or an expansion of the circumference of the Earth.
Please allow me to describe one possibility.
An inner layer, having cooled for centuries, if not a thousand years, suddenly changes State: it may contract or expand. Either way, the sudden change would be catastrophic.
The sudden contraction or expansion of the earth's circumference may be minor--considered as a percentage of its diameter. The Planet's diameter could change by 2 or 3 percent in less than two or three seconds. To say that the sudden motion on the surface would be catastrophic would be an understatement.
The earthquakes would continue for some time, decreasing, then a short period of calm as inner layers adjust to their change in temperature and pressure.
It is entirely possible that a sequence of such events may follow a change, each as a result of the previous, until a stable state was achieved.
A sudden expansion of an inner layer would cause a slight expansion of the surface. This would be accompanied by earthquakes and volcanic expulsion of magma. The expulsion of magma would allow the inner layer to cool. The cooling of the inner layer would allow contraction, and the Earth would then shrink. This series of events could occur over the course of sever hours, several days, or a year or longer, but each expansion or contraction event would be sudden.
The result could be earthquakes of immense power, followed by extreme volcanic activity. Regardless if the period were days, weeks or years, the end result would be a change in the diameter of the Planet, and the alteration of its biosphere due to the volcanic gases.
Then, due to the loss of heat one of the inner layers contracts. This contraction is less than the previous expansion, but it 'sucks' the sea floor deeper rather than causing a contraction of the whole earth.
Suddenly the sea depth is increased by two or there hundred feet, and the sea level drops. Tsunami 90-100 meters high and traveling at 260-280 meters per second would lash the continents.
Consider a second possibility:
The earth is struck and penetrated by a small but extremely fast moving solid body of iron or nickel. The impact would shatter the earth's crust, causing the escape of molten material. The penetration would cause an explosive expulsion of molten material from the interior. Depending on the angle and direction of the impact, the earth's rotation on its axis may speed or slow, and the angle of the axis my increase or decrease.
The sudden breakup of the surface layer and the sudden expulsion of the inner magma would cause a change in the heat/pressure on the inner layers, which would then expand/contract in sequence.
The earth may first contract slightly due to the explosive expulsion of material, then expand and contract again due to State changes of the inner layers. The Earth's resulting surface would not resemble the previous in any significant degree. It could take years for the surface to stabilize, and the atmosphere and weather would be erratic for decades.

I found this question surfing the net, and it was so much fun I'd like to play with it some more.
"If mountain climbers need oxygen tanks to climb
Mount Everest, how were Noah, his family, and the
animals able to breathe on the Ark when they were
above the mountains?" - Genesis 7:20
I would like to say first that I believe the Bible account of the flood, that it was global, and that the waters covered the entire planet. I don't need to know how God did it, in order to believe that He did, in fact, do it.
Before attempting to answer the question, I'd like to see if it is a 'sound' question. First, look at the question and see what assumptions it may be based on.
a) Fact, mountain climbers do need oxygen to climb Mt Everest.
O.k., Fine so far: But, what follows?
To discover the first assumption, we need to know what causes the need for oxygen while climbing Mt Everest. What causes lower air pressure, and less oxygen, on a mountain peak?
When standing on top of a Mountain there is less oxygen to breathe because much, if not all, the earth's atmosphere, and therefore the oxygen, is below the top of the mountain.
If water fills up all of the surface lower than the mountain, up to your feet, then there will be no atmosphere below the mountain peak.
Therefore, there will be no less oxygen at the peak because all the air, and oxygen, is now above the mountain. Therefore the question is based on at least one wrong assumption:
b) that there would be less oxygen if the waters covered the mountains.
But, there are some hidden assumptions in the question: That before the flood,
1) The earth was the same diameter
2) The mountains were the same height
3) The earth had near the same amount of water,
(That is, the oceans were about the same size and depth)
4) Then, After the flood,
There is less water on the earth now than during the flood.
These are all assumptions. There is no way for Modern science to prove that the earth was the same before the flood as it is now.
This idea is based on "Uniformatism." This is the belief that all things remain the same. This idea, theory and belief is from Satan.
What I believe, and of course can't prove, is as follows:
(See "Catastrophic," above
Before the flood:
a) The earth was slightly smaller, and
b) The mountains were lower, and
c) There were less oceans, and
d) These seas were not as deep
Cause of the flood:
e) At least one large body struck the earth
and shattered it like a dropped egg
f) Water from the inside of the earth flooded out
g) Many smaller water-ice bodies fell to earth
adding their water to the flood
h) Rain also began to fall, but most the water
came from the fountains of the deep
and the falling water-ice bodies
During the flood:
While the earth was covered with water;
i) The continents began to move rapidly
j) Magma flowed from below the earth's surface
k) Surface features changed, rose and fell, as
l) Continents collided, volcanoes and mountains rose
As the flood ended:
m) Some of the inner contents of the earth expanded
n) Lifting the continents so new mountains rose above
the water, allowing the ark to land on a new mountain
o) Then some of the earth's inner contents contracted
p) Sucking the sea bed deeper
q) Then the waters flowed off of the surface
r) Allowing the lands to dry
Following the flood:
s) The earth is now larger in diameter
t) With higher mountains
u) With deeper seas, and all of the water remains
v) There are now many geological layers containing the bodies
of everything that died in the flood.
w) Both coal and oil are the remains of the plant
and animal life drowned by the flood
x) Men and all living things multiplied rapidly
Christians need not believe any theory that contradicts God's word.
If there is a choice between believing what God said and believing something else, I will believe God.
"And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon,
and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations,
with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring."
Luke 21:25
Actually, one of the 'signs in the heavens' is not exactly IN the heavens... more "of the heavens."
This sign is one of those which will cause distress of nations, with perplexity, in these last days. Not for the general populace this week, or next year perhaps, but in the near future. For now, already known to a select few, it is a closely held secret in Washington and Moscow. NASA does not want you to know: they must protect the governed from panic.
Over the last 40 or more years, some writers, and more than a few Scientists, have been looking into the future and predicting that man can, and will, survive in space. Their idea is that man will build ships, travel to the Moon and Mars to establish colonies.
Indeed, that is what the Space Race was about. Yes, it was heavily promoted by the military, but that was not its only goal. Some men thought of it as an industry by which they could make money - and they did. Some thought of space travel as a way to expand the human race to other planets, and someday, to other stars - but they will not.
Some saw space travel as a way, perhaps the only way, for humanity to guarantee the survival of the human race. Survival of exactly what has been a matter of speculation. What if, these men and women have told us, the earth is hit by a large comet? If this is the only place mankind lives, it could be 'the end.'
Now, in these last few years, it has become more and more clear that we have poisoned our own nest, and wrecked the ecology of earth--and it is becoming clear that we may have brought about our own extinction.
So, the escape to space, to the moon and then to mars, has become more important.
That is why I say this is a 'sign in the heavens.'
However, NASA now knows that it is impossible for the human body to survive in space. Oh, sure, a year--perhaps two. What they don't want you to know is that after a year or two in space the human body reaches a point where it begins to weaken, and die.
If a ship could be (they do have the mechanical technology now) sent to mars, by the time the men and women reached the planet they would be helpless, unable to survive.
That man cannot survive in the heavens is 'a sign in the heavens.' Now that man knows that, there is no escape from this world, the end of this world has suddenly become more... intolerable; and now, indisputably, recognizable as something man can not prevent.
This blooming comprehension is something that flies in the face of Scientific Theory and Knowledge, it insults and ridicules the mind of man, and makes his 'descendant from the apes' mind insignificant and pointless: For by every Law this Ape Mind can conceive and believe, he ought to be master of his own fate - and is not. The only alternative is, regrettably, something the Ape Mind cannot condone or accept, and will reject unto eternal death.
Christians need not believe any idea that contradicts God's word.
If there is a choice between believing what God said and believing something else, I believe God.
Having studied in the school of Life for some 65 years
With time spend in the school of Hard Knocks
Some little time at sea and in the desert
Many hours of study at the feet of Truth
With a little time spent in delusion
Yes, a few credits in the class of regret
With tears
Yes, and many credits earned in sorrow
With tears
Yes, having failed in this or that
With shame
Now, After all these years
celebrating my graduation
Anticipating my award
I have little joy
I regret to inform you
As I have learned
(But you already knew)
There are only two groups
In the school of this earth
There are "We" and "They"
We who hope and they of no hope
His People and not His people
The Saved and the Lost
I have learned that when you read His Word
If you do not find yourself
Among the "us" and "we"
Then you are "They"
As it is written
And God said "Let there be light"
Then God separated the Light
From the Darkness
There is only Light and Darkness
There are no shades of Light
If you do not see His Light
You are in darkness
As it is written
For this I came into the world
To bear witness unto the truth
Who loves truth hear my voice
As it is written
My sheep hear my voice, and
I know them, and
My Flock follows me
Today, while it is yet "today"
If you hear God's voice today,
Do not be stubborn, as "they" were
When they rebelled against God
If you are of the scoffers
Who refuse to be one with Us
Then We regret to acknowledge
You are not among us
Hebrews 3:6-15 (Freely Translated)
So then, as the Holy Spirit says:
"If you hear God's voice today, do not be stubborn, as the others were when they rebelled against God, as they were that day in the desert when they put Him to the test."
(As He said,) "There they put me to the test and tried me," says God, "although they had seen what I did for forty years. And so I was angry with those people and said, 'They are always disloyal and refuse to obey my commands. I was angry and made a solemn promise: They will never enter the land where I would have given them rest!"
My fellow-believers, be careful that no one among you has a heart so evil and unbelieving as to turn away from the living God.
Instead, in order that none of you be deceived by sin and become stubborn, you must help one another every day, as long as the word "Today" applies to us.
For we are all partners with Christ if we hold firmly to the end the confidence we had at the beginning.
This is what the scripture says:
"If you hear God's voice today, do not be stubborn, as they were when they rebelled against God."
It is now my fondest hope, that
Hearing the voice of His Witnesses
Receiving our invitation
You will choose well
And come with us...
"Come..."
