2001 Reunion

We can once again thank Susan Elmore and her leadership and caring coordination of our 40-year reunion. There are many other folks who made the team work and provided fun for all of the planners.

Several classmates graciously hosted ten reunion planning meetings;

Betty and Ronnie Rawlins hosted our first meeting, August 26, 2000 on their boat, "Betty Boop" for a cruise on the Black Warrior.
Kendall and Barbara Hanby's warm hospitality offset the cool weather for October's meeting at their Lake Place.
In November Susan Elmore prepared a welcome and wonderful chili supper to a large crowd including several who came in from out of town. Ward McFarland and Mary Hugh Taylor encouraged input to determine what types of souvenirs.
A festive Christmas spirit filled the air at Sandra Pride's for our December, 2000 planning meeting.
By January, 2001, Susan had prepared the reunion notices ready for the gang to stuff and get into the mail. Charles Hilburn provided a delicious buffet at his home for the volunteers.
In February Betty and Ronnie hosted our meeting at their home. Valentine's nostalgic sprit inspired happy memories as we formulated the plans for our reunion program.
Marty and Bill Massengale's barbeque supper at their home on Lake Tuscaloosa was a welcome to spring in March, 2001.
April brought a good turnout at Susan Elmore's that was highlighted by her showing a video of our 35-year reunion.
May's flowers at Ward McFarland's surrounded the elegant barbeque buffet that he and Sandra Baker spread before our reunion committee.
Anticipation of our reunion brought out our largest crowd, June 19, to get a preview things to come. Charles Hilburn organized and graciously hosted our final planning meeting at the University Club, site of our reunion's first night's revelry.
