How do you become a witch?

This question springs from the multiple misconceptions about witchcraft that abound in todays society (either leftovers of medieval propaganda, or garnered from movies and TV). You might as well ask how to become a Muslim, or how to become a Buddhist. You become a witch in the same manner as you would to follow any other religion; you either decide one day to follow the precepts of Wicca or you are born into a family that does. A witch is someone who believes in immanant diety in the forms of a Goddess and a God and who believes in and practices magick for the good of themselves, the Earth, and their fellow men and animals.

Anyone can be a witch, male or female, old or young. It is simply a decision to follow the religion of witchcraft. This decision can be formally marked(an initiation ceremony) or informal (self-dedication) but either way, once you have chosen to follow this path, you are thereafter a witch.
