Chapter 17 (31 August 2001 CE*) In the inn with Armand and the injured Abel. There are no herbal supplies available nearby in the inn. Yes, it's Abel, but even so something drives me to help him. Familial concern ? Hardly. Professional ethic ? Probably. Potential leverage angle ? Surely no such thing .... I gate out into the Abyss, intending to create herbs and bandages. I disappear in a green nimbus and zoom through the interstices of space to the Abyss. I use the small plant-like things that grow on the edge of the Abyss as the basis for what I need. I travel back to the inn room. Abel is (surprisingly) still alive, and Armand is holding up a small piece of metal, looking at it with mixed admiration and fascination. I send him off to get some boiling water. While waiting I bathe Abel wound in wine from a flask and then make up a healing poultice. While Abel is unconscious I rifle through his mind to see what he's been up to, what his thoughts/aims etc are and how the lie of the land is with him generally. He was apparently travelling through Shadow searching for his father Oberon. He eventually (after many adventures) came to a place called Mordor where he found his father (who was there looking for his brother Lucifer). Abel and Oberon were attacked by a ringwraith (an invisible-ish thing). He got to here. * Note: CE = Chronology of Earth |
